I don't think I've seen this subject on here. I apologize if it has. But I have quite a few CD-R's that I need to label and am unsatisfied with the labels I've found in retail stores (Stomper, Memorex and Avery). They seem to be no different than other peel and stick type labels used for inkjet and laser printing with gummed adhesive. I've labelled quite afew cdr's but the ones that are 1 to 2 years old seem to be aging poorly. I fear that my experience with labels on files, binders, etc.. I have put on four to five years ago have dried up and fallen off or the adhesive has oozed out from under the label. This could ruin the cdr and if the label peels off under use, could destroy the cd drives.

Any recommendations for good long term application (archive) would be appreciated. I've also heard bad things about using markers to write the title onto cdr's. One package of cdr's I purchased had a legal waiver stating that use of markers on the cdr may void the warranty (why would they put and space to write on with a date/name label pre-printed). Another manf has a warning about putting labels on cdr's.

Finally something I know something about. One of my job duties is selling data on CDs. The best labels that I have found are the Neato brand. They make ones for inkjets and also a shiny type for lasers. There is even a couple of others that are for graphics. I don't like the white inkjet ones as they let what ever is underneath to show through. Try http://www.neato.com . I think you will be pleased. CompUSA sells them, also. Be careful, these labels WON'T come off.

I second the Neato suggestion. I've been labeling my CD's with these for several years now and have no problems with peel. Have tried the others that you mentioned with poor long term results. As far as the inkjet labels having the print on the CD show through...I use Verbatim disks that have no print on them. I get them at my local Sam's store...50 to a spindle.

Thanks for the info. Only the http://www.neato.com link doesn't work. Found some at another site, but delivery and exchange to Canada doubles the price. Anyone know where to buy in Canada?

Tried logging onto neato, but neither Netscape or MSIE will on either of my two ISP's. Any chance you can respond with the link to the web site embedded onto this thread?

Try this link for Neato. Don't know why the link didn't work for you. This is their default address. http://www.neato.com/default.asp?mscsid=HA9H4CQUK3S92GB900A2T4520GLW44E5

Also don't know about shipping charges to Canada. Do you have a store like Best Buy anywhere up there. That's where I usually get my refills. Hope this helps.
