I wanted to add my agreement here. Neat Image is great if you have a really noisy pic that you just have to save, but I would not run pictures through it as a rule. It really does soften some of that great Zeiss sharpness out of pics. And T is right, it doesn't usually show up in prints or at normal viewing size. Also, go back and look at some of your film pictures. You will see there is actually more "grain" in the shadows of many of those than in prints from the 717.Just wanted to add that the noise you see arn't that noticable on
actual prints. I don't really like running images thru NI as it
usually makes the image look funny to my eyes. Keep a close eye on
the exposure and try to avoid underexposing (@ the same time don't
overexpose too much where detail is fully blown out).
