I went for a dive today at a spot called Shiprock. It's a shore dive location at Dolans Bay, a suburb in southern Sydney. It's been raining all weekend, so the water was very turbid. About 3m visibility.

I've been trying out my C-5050 U/W rig (PT-015 housing). It comprises a 50 watt modeling light to help with autofocus and an old strobe I owned that has a slave sensor. I bought a fibre-optic cable from the local hi-fi store and used it to pipe the on-camera flash to the external strobe. It works well, but of course the strobe doesn't understand the camera's pre-flash. Therefore I have to shoot in manual mode. Eh. Just means I have to practice a bit more and bracket, bracket, bracket.

You need to start hanging out with the rest of the underwater shooters. This one was taken with a C-5050, PT-015, and Ikelite DS-125.

I think my favorite is the hermit crab. How do you keep those critters from coming after you? Geesh! Remind me not to go in the water, huh!

Nice work. Please, do let us know when there's more to see!

That one was taken on Bonaire in Feb of this year. It was an afternoon dive and probably about 30 feet toward the end of the dive. That was my first trip shooting underwater photos. Needless to say, I'm very pleased with my setup.
Where was it taken, time of day, depth etc?
