I have used them with no problems in several different cameras and CF readers.Hi All,
I am considering purchasing a Viking 512mb CF card. Has anyone had
a problem with the Viking CF cards?
Thanks,
yodzak
I have had one for 4 months. I read it with an X-Drive and a Sandisk 6 in 1 reader with no problems. Also got my rebate with no problems.Hi All,

The Canon forum has posted a few negative comments about Viking cards. I have a 512M Viking card and so far (cross fingers ;-) no problems, but that is with less than a month of use.Hi All,

Not really a problem, but I found this card to be very slow to
write. I tested it in my Oly 5050 against a Transcend 1GB 30X Ultra
card. My Viking card was also a 1GB. In raw mode of the same pic,
the Viking took almost 12 seconds to write the file to the card,
while the Transcend card took less than 4 seconds. I always see
some difference, but not usually this big a time spread. If you
need the speed, I would avoid the Viking.

My Lexar firewire reader wont recognize the Viking card. It
recognizes Transcend and Lexar CF.

I haven't had any problems with it, either. I use it on my Nikon
Coolpix 5700. I also have the Viking PC Card adapter and plug the
card in my PowerBook G4. It works without a glitch. If you get
the card from http://www.zones.com you will get a $50 rebate from Viking
(versus $25 elsewhere).

Viking has changed their rebate house. They used to use some clowns in Scottsdale, AZ who seemed to be the source of all their problems. Can't remember their name, but looking them up on the BBB's website listed lots and lots of complaints. Viking is now using a rebate house in New Rochelle, NY (I think it's NY) that should be better, at least they couldn't be worse.there were so many people in this forum complaining about getting
rebate from Viking. Is it still aproble to get the rebate ? MJ
Are you sure about the $50 rebate? A quick check zones.com shows
the rebate to be only $25.
