Just bought a 10D, but I want to stay here

This is a great opportunity for us D7x owners because you guys know
what is like having D7x. There is no forum or site where people can
talk about their 10D and coming from D7x prospective. The best
forum to do that is in this forum. Anyone coming from D7x to 10D
surely has something interesting stories to tell.

When D7 came out, a lot of people do not like it because some
people came from a point-and-shot camera they find hard to
comprehend. For those who able to tame the beast are rewarded with
great photos.
Now there is 10D and I've heard it is meaner beast and would really
like to know how to tame it.

P.S.
If this forum for any reason you guys find it unfriendly, you can
talk to Bryan Biggers and share your knowledge and thoughts over
there. :)
I feel that there are a certain number of misconceoptions about this type of issue. If you put the 10D on Program mode you can just fire away, the same as on a D7i. On both cameras, the extra controls are there as a facility which you can gradually get used to, and grow into.

If I had a D1, it would be easier yet. The AF is better again, and I would be still more unlikely to loose my shot.
Using a camera which is rather less capable is harder, not easier.

That was part of my reason for swopping, I find it difficult to provide a very still platform for a shot, and a heavier camera and the ability to go to higher ISO's helps in this respect.

Again, a very good photographer is more able to use techniques like pre-focus to catch shots where there is action, but it is not an easy tedchnique and faster AF helps those of us who are less able.

It's exactly the same as the D7i, advanced facilities are there for when you are ready for them but you can use the camera fien without ever going out of program mode.
Hope this helps,

Notice when I made my Church, Congregation, Religion analogy that I didn't mention God. . . Yet he still spoke.
Looks like he encountered of the biggest jerk on the planet on this
forum...the guy has this bad attitude with everyone...so I would
not pay attention to such jerk anyway.

There is an awfull lot of traffic in the Canon SLR forum and
hehe...the poor pros will soon be overwhelmed by the avalance of
"amators" who just found the 10D to be an affordable little
toy...they will have no choice but to cope with these newcomers and
the intolerant people will probably give up or get banned if they
continue to be so rude.
