Sorry, I've posted this in a few of the other forums and have not
heard much.

Amazon has the Lexar 12x 256 MB Compact Flash card on sales for
$43.48 through the end of April.

Does anyone have an opinion on this card?

Thanks.
I just ordered one of the 256 MB Vicking cards for $37 after rebate
from Buy.com (and free ground shipping).

I believe the rebate on the Viking card (which I think is 8x) ends 4-15. The Lexar 256 MB that has a $20 rebate is 12x, has a lifetime warranty (vs. 5 yr. for Viking), and is $41.99 after rebate from http://www.buy.com/retail/product.asp?sku=10316634&loc=101

I've been using a couple of Viking 128 MB cards with no problems, but I bought the Lexar 256 because of the better warranty and fewer reported problems. The Minoltas can't take advantage of the latest and fastest cards anyway.

I've been using the Viking 256 card for quite some time now and have had no problems. I timed it against my Lexar 128Mb 12x card, both freshly formatted and want to remember the Viking being about 4-5 seconds faster on a TIFF... but I'm not sure if size doesn't play a role here.

The rebate is another story. It's been over 4 months and have heard nothing. Probably time to nag Viking.

Just received viking CF256M from amazon for my 7i.

Freshly formatted card raw file write time 25 sec (compared to 13 sec with 16MB Lexar 8x that came with camera)
Am I doing somthing wrong?

I just received my Lexar 256MB card from Amazon and the packaging states that the card has a 5 year warranty. Just thought y'all would like to know. I still think it is a great deal. I ordered Wednesday morning and had the memory by Friday afternoon.

According to the rebate form, which you can see at

http://images.amazon.com/images/P/B00005U0HU.01.RB04.LZZZZZZZ.jpg

there is a limit of "one claim per person/household/address/receipt."

Does this limit me to claiming a rebate on only one card, or can I buy (say)
four cards at once and submit a single claim for $80?

That would give me a total capacity of about 450 pictures from my D7i (including
the 128MB card that I already have) for my big trip this summer, cheaper than
buying an image tank or something similar.

I bought two. One shipped to me one to my mother's house. It is free shipping so I did not get wacked for that twice. I was able to submit both that way.
