Looks like I might have to send my 950 in for repair. Anyone have any idea how long it will take Nikon to fix my camera. I have gone through 3 CF cards since May.

My local Nikon Services claimed that they usually need 4 weeks to fix stuff sent to them. You haven't describe in what way your CF cards gone. Have you used a card reader or another DC and still can't read or write the faulty CF.

I sent mine in for LDC replacement. I sent it 2nd day air USP and they returned it FedX overnight after 12 working days.

BTW ...In addition to replacing the LCD for bad pixels, they replaced the Battery door, the Compact Flash door, some

internal electronics and did a general cleaning and check out. I really missed the camera but it was worth it.

A friend of mine sent in his 950 for repair a couple of weeks ago.

It was at Nikon 5 working days.

They overnighted it back to him.

COOL!!!

Someone suggested that I try reading the cards thru MS Dos. Up until this point I couldn't even open the 8 mg without it locking up the computer. Going thru DOS I was able to view the DIR. Then I went to Explorer and tried to view them. I had DCIM and in that I had a file and the NIKON folder. First time I clicked on the NIKON folder I got locked up, had to re-boot. Second time it let me delete the file with no problems but when I tried the NIKON folder again - locked my computer up. I re-booted, went back into DOS and told DOS to reformat the disk. Said I couldn't cause the disk was bad.

Tried reading the 32 mg and 16mg cards thru DOS and it would lock everything up. When I took the card of the reader, sometimes my computer would work again and sometimes it would lockup and I would have to re-boot.

Looks like it is something in the way that the camera is writing to the disk.
