This picture 'defence of the realm' was taken this morning in dangerous circumstances. (Southern Britain)

the two submarines are due to be taken away in the next few days, the backdrop of portchester castle in the background (an old form of defence) makes for...................

Mark, I loved it! I also loved the picture of the deer in the morning mist/fog in "helminghall" picture.

I don't quite catch it when you say "in dangerous circumstances".
Are they nuclear powered submarines ?
Looks like they are in very poor condition.....rusty all over..
What camera did you use to take the shot ?

It seems that the shot was taken either early in the morning or on a
cold and cloudy day.

Hi Eric

danger came of getting the shot, only access point, hanging over motorway rail, or via boat, opted for the latter.
Yes they are old, a relic of the second world war.
The camera a Nikon coolpix 990

Interesting shot, but why a picture taken on a Nikon camera on the OLYMPUS Talk Forum? Just curious.

But I am not extolling the virtues of Nikon, rather felt I would share an interesting photo.
if this is in breach of forum etiquette I will in future refrain.

My personal philosophy who gives a stuff what camera is used, it is what it sees!

I agree with you Mark......when its something like this its great for
all of us to see it........regardless of which camera you used. Now
if it had been a nice photo of a flower or something it would have
not been approprate to show it in this forum. Thanks for the
photo.
