A friend and I were just taking snapshots of her new shoes to show friends on the web. She came up with this pose on a whim and I thought I would post it here for comments. This shot was taken using existing fluorescent lighting in an office (no flash) with a Nikon Coolpix 990 in B&W mode. Matrix Metering, Shutter Priority, Shutter 1/15, Aper F2.5, EXP +0.7, Foc Len f8.2mm, ISO 400, Auto Focus. The image was cropped and a border was added.

I keep trying to get the viewer to go to the left but it won't. :) This is a pretty cool shot.

I saw this yesterday on another site and I really liked it. Your office must be a lot more fun than the office that I work in. Great pic!

Hi George,

I like it. I think your friend had a good idea and you executed it very well. Nice use of a nice pair of legs.

... it's even better after being ran through Neat Image to remove the CCD noise from the darker areas and the wall on the viewer's right. I ran it through just to see what happened and it really slicked it up. I used to shoot with a Nikon 990. I wish I had bought Neat Image back then. You should check it out. If you want to see what your shot looked like after noise removal just e-mail me.

George, congratulations on a great shot. It looks, to me, that you had good leg to stand on to win....I know that's pretty bad humour but I couldn't help it.

Great Image!

Funny how a photo you shot for fun and never expected to win anything wins photo of the day. :)
It's the most fun that way.

Hi Judi

Welcome, if I never saw any other pictures of you Judy it would be fine, I like you already :-)

Someone did comment I think that the shoes looked a little big and when I looked again back then I remember thinking they were right .. did you agree with that Judi ?

Mark,

Actually, I don't agree. The shoes just looked a little bit big because the angle of my legs forced a bit of an arch to my foot, which then made my foot marginally smaller. Trust me, when I'm standing up, they fit just fine! :) Any smaller and they'd pinch wayyy too much. If I ever come up with a good pose that has me standing in them, maybe I'll be able to convince George to 1) photograph it and 2) post it.

Makes sense now why did I not think about that ..
I know its the "male distraction" thing ...

George showed me an attractive bit of woman in a nicely composed photograph and I forgot the ability to think for a while :-) usually happens that way, we are such sheep :-). [1]

I am sure you and George could manage that any time you felt like it Judy :-) there are so many interesting poses for people and just candid photography works fine most of the time for me .. people as they are not realising they are being photographed.

Do you take photographs yourself Judy? I see you did not post here much before you were a subject, and I guess you must be a perl programmer or something like that from your choice of handle?

[1] there was a very amusing rather busty blonde comedienne on our UK tv some time ago (either US or Canadian) who said about the perceived relationship between bust size and brain size , larger busts do mean smaller brains .. for the men around them that is .. who just cant think straight when distracted by them .... mind you she went on to say that she was so paranoid that she just had to move to New York, because it was the only place where her paranoia was justified :-)
