Sorry, but my cat was unavailable!

I know this photo still has issues, but this is with minimal photoshopping. I'll do the final and post it later on my website...

Thanks. So far, so good. I will be using it for some portraits this week, but it probably won't be my main camera for a while...

28-70 F2.8L. I really like the lens. The jury is still out on the camera, though...

Thank you. Will post final image, along with the rest of that day's images, after I finish with the PS.

I agree, but I hadn't done USM yet. The new one should be better. I plan on printing it at 16x20 on an IJT. There were several good ones from that day. I am happy with the camera in general, though I wish the post processing was a lttle less work with shots like this. I have taken almost the exact same shot with slide film, and the Type R print from it was fanastic.

I would almost go as far as saying that there is some serious camera shake here or its out of focus. I don't mean to be mean, but I don't think this will print out very well at 16x20 like you want. There is really something wrong with this pic and it makes me dizzy just looking at it. I don't think USM will help here because its just blurry to begin with, not soft.

I really like hearing issues, but can you give me a better idea of what's wrong? I have a feeling that I used too much USM in the gallery above, but I was trying to push it to see how sharp I could get it.

BTW, this image was taken at 1/400 of a sec at F6.3 on my 10D with the 28-70 F2.8L with the lens at 70MM, but all the other adjustments in the camera, sharpening in particular, was set to normal. Maybe I should increase the in camera sharpening.

Something seems way off with all the photos. I don't know what though.

The first shot that you showed of the old house and rocks is definatley out of focus and no amount of sharpening can bring it back. the pumphouse, although it does look to be in focus, is way too over sharpened. the family one does look ok but its not really crisp i guess. and the stereotypical sedona looks like it was a negative from the 80's scanned with a really cheap film scanner. these pics really have that 80's feel to them, not a digital canon SLR look. i find it really hard to believe that this is a 28-70 L lens. these pics cannot be coming from a 10D and that lens. I'm not saying its your technique, but there is definately something wrong. I think you should post a full size original sample without any processing. If you shot it in raw, then just convert with the canon software with normal on all the settings and complete with the EXIF info. I think we really need to figure out if its your lens/camera or your post processing.

I just posted originals in the same gallery. I don't know how to publish the exif data attached to the images. If you could advise that would be helpful. I am currently looking through my files to find similiar pics taken with my D60 or film, if I find any, I will post those, but that is doubtful. Just about everything I have is either a portrait of a person, or is taken with a different lense, so I don't know if I can make a good comparison or not from what I have. When I get a chance, I will go and take some pics and compare. I really hope it isn't the camera, but I guess that is what return policies are for...

Okay, so here it is again, only this time I went with less adjustment. Is this okay? I will remove the people later...

I have a 10D so I'm not exaclty sure off hand what the size is of a D60, but the 10D is 3072 x 2048 and the D60 is just slightly smaller. Why is it at 3000 x 2400... why did you crop out a few pixels? And after you did that and resaved, the exif info was stripped from the image. Upload the pic straight from the camera as it was taken. This pic has either no DOF and whatever it was focused on is not in the scene, or there is some serious camera shake, which is hard to believe mind you since its so bright.
