I am a total newbie here but feel I have learned alot form this form in my efforts to purchase an S602. I noticed an Ebay seller that is offering a

"Pro" model. In his ad, he says the difference is the pro and regular model is that the case is black and it has provision for a cable release shutter and seperate flash synchronization. I am turning to the collective wisdom of this form to ask if this is correct. Also, I have tried on several of the product comparison sites such as resellerratings.com to find a listing for an

S602 "Pro" model but nothing shows up. Does it go by a different name or specific model number? The seller on Ebay (PC-Cameras) says the "Pro" is scarce. Any insight that can be provided is greatly appreciated. I am ready to order, just want to get the best for my money.

From what I know, this information is all correct. I read somewhere that the Pro version and the SE version are the same, except that they are sold in different countries. One other thing. The Pro version is supposed to come with a 340 MB Microdrive if I remember correctly.

Keep in mind, I haven't seen much on these, so all the information that I have posted here is only what I have heard. Hope that helps.

AFAIK the Pro/SE isn't available in the US, it may be Canadian stock.

The disclosed differences are the case colour, all black, the pc-sync socket, a threaded shutter release 'hole' and, al least in the UK, a 340Mb Microdrive.

Hi Taxback

I recently purchased the camera you are describing. Yes it does have the shutter release, pc sync, and all black in color; but it does not have the 340MB microdrive. The literature, owners manual, and packaging do not say PRO or SE anywhere. I am very happy with this camera as it has the extra features I especially wanted (cable release and pc sync). I purchased my camera online from Carmans Camera in Stratford Ontario; an authorized Fuji dealer. I ordered one day and received it the next day ... GREAT SERVICE, and a good price I have now ordered the 1GB microdrive etc. Contact me if I can be of help. Also the warrantee is from Fuji Film Canada Inc. so I don't think that you would have any problems there.

Yes. From everything I've read it is not sold in the US. So be careful as from what I've also read there is no US warranty therefore no US repair work done. If you are a US purchaser you'd have to send it to the country of origin for repair work.

It does look REAL sweet though. I just bought the Finepix s602Z and would have gladly paid the difference for the black/cable relaese/sych connection. But it doesn't seem to be on the US horizon for... who knows how long??
