A70 Remote Capture

Has anyone tried the remote capture on the A70?? I get an error message when I try to connect. I didn't think it was supported because it is not listed in the the readme file. I sent an E-Mail to canon product support and they say it is.? Can't figure what I am doing wrong. I have tried reloading the software and it didn't help. Using Win 98se and XP on Laptop. Same problem.

It seems odd, but for the computer to recognize the A70, it needs to be in play back mode (blue square). It took me a while to figure out this was the problem with the remote capture. It is a really cool feature once you figure it out.

Hi. I don't know if you already figured it out, but mine( A70 with Remote Capture) works well. However, the first time I tried it, I receive an error message telling something like : camera error, verify lens cap or cable connection and re-connect (this is an open translation from french). If it is the kind of message you get, be sure to be in reading mode (the dial next to the LCD), then put the camera on. This solved the problem for me (this is writen in the manual). Hope this will help you!

Everyone was right on. I just didn't see it. My first camera and first tme on the form. Thanks again for the help
