Hi everyone,

Kodak US have just alerted me that they are working on these items now - they are investigating it. If you have more samples of Purple Fringing and Moire Patterns, please do send me the URL of the full images - so that I can send it to Kodak.

Thanks.

I suggest you contact Rommel. He was having probelms with this and probably could contribute.

I have had the DC4800 for just a couple of days. I have only one shot with "purple fringing", which can be seen at

(I dropped the http: to avoid loading the pictures directly into the message).

It was overcast and I had ISO set at 100. I guess the picture is taken with f 2,8 at 28 mm.

Generally, I think the camera is great. I specially like the exposure compensation switch, the f-stop presets and the 28 mm wide angle. Nightshooting is great, see this:

Jan,

What were the settings for the night shot. Was it handheld?

The night shot was made with long exposure settings in the menu, 8 to 16 seconds and manual aperture at f5.6 - 8. (I took several shots). Focus set at infinity. I used a steady Manfrotto/Bogen tripod.

Pepe,
Today I got my first "moire-picture" with the 4800. Take a look at this:

I guess this is a typical situation where moire is appearing at interference between the camera´s resolution and the resolution of the stripes in the shirt.

PS. The shirt is made of cotton, not silk!

i sometimes notice the moire pattern in my dc4800 pictures. but generally it is not present in the orginal picture (2160 x 1440); rather it is after i re-size to an image with smaller dimensions that it is apparent.
