As I don't require the slow viewing of files, any comments pro or con on either the Nixvue DA Lite or DA II? Are they worth the expense when so closely priced to the Vista, or should I just go ahead and invest in the Vista? One obvious advantage I see with the DA(s) is the USB 2.0 capability.

Thank you in advance,

-Patricia

Patricia,

I agree with you, I don't want the image viewing feature either, just a very reliable and sturdy device to transfer my images to. In this regard, another advantage of the DA 2 and DA Lite units is that they will soon support full bit-by-bit verification of file transfers:

Assuming they are designed and constructed to the same high quality levels as the Vista, these are the devices I am looking for. Alas, I can't find a vendor that carries either of these models. Do you know of a source? I am wondering if they are even yet released.

The DA Lite and DA II are in fact shipping - In the very near future (days - not weeks) you will also be able to buy a DA Lite without a hard disk and install one youself ( a ten minute process requiring only a pair of scissors and a philips screw driver). I will post a note with details when they become available. At this time they will only be available online from one source and not at your local camera store.

Sincerely,
Kerry Reuer, Dir. Bus. Dev, Nixvue Systems.

I recieved an email from http://www.jobo-usa.com/ on Mar 6th stating that they had just got in their first shipment of DAII and DA Lite. I have since purchased a Tripper so I don't know any more.

For what it's worth: I was seriously looking at the DA Lite since I knew the Vista was slow to display pictures and the DAII, while it does not have on-board video, it does have video out. I couldn't see paying extra for what I already knew was slow. The DA Lite was my choice, but my needs aligned better with the Tripper.

Hope this helps.

Thank you, Kerry. I will look forward to your announcement! Will the DA Lite (w/o hard drive) carry a different model name or number?
