Are the generic BP 511s selling on ebay for $12-$13 a piece as good as the Canon BP 511? That 12-13 dollars scares me...hell I pay that for two CR123A NONrechargeable batteries for my Elan 7E....infact, it comes close to $15. Seems a little too good to be true, you can buy almost 6 for the price of one Canon BP 511

Give it a shot for that price, why not? I just wayyyy over payed for a energizer battery. Live and learn.

You pays your money; you takes your chances. I figure it's a bit like shopping at Wal-Mart; most of Wal-Mart's own brand products are as good or better than the name brand, once in awhile one is not.

Just make sure that the generic BP 511s will fit in the battery compartment. The D60 in camera battery compartment must have the battery with the two humps. A flat battery like some of the generics will not fit, or sometimes they are slightly larger. You will need to find this out for your particular camera model.

I bought two aftermarket 511s and they fit in my BIGED grip just fine, but would not fit into the D60 camera battery compartment itself because they are slightly larger than the orignal 511.

I bought two of the $35 Power 2000 BP-511 replacements at B&H Website... so far it seems to last longer than the factory battery. It is rated a tad higher whicih probably explains why. It seems solid, clean, and very well built. It has the two humps so it matches the factory battery perfectly.

The ones that are (were) on ebay were rated at 1200mAh, and the listing said it was for D60/D30, I was assuming that meant it would also be compatible with the 10D.

I have purchased four (4) of these batteries and 'so far so good'. They seem to last as long as the Canon BP-511's. They were the $13 ones.

Just bought one off of ebay and the battery fit too tight in the d60 compartment. When the battery release button was pressed the battery would not release. These are identical in shape to the bp-511 but the case does not snap together with good tolerances..hence the tight fit. I had to dis-assemble the case, file it down the mounting tabs and reassemble it. I have yet to drain the battery, so I dont know how the perfomance is compared to an oem battery.

I bought one from ebay for around $20, been using it for a year now, its just as good or mabey better than the Original from Canon.
