Forum Members' Photos at Pbase

Several people asked you to show your pictures. So far you keep
avoiding to answer that.

I ask you again to show them so I can see that you know what you
are talking about.

BTW what cameras people buy and what they use it for is their
business IMHO
That's exactly what I said. It's their money, their cameras.

still predictable, still pathetic, you are consistent
Yes, Univ. At Buffalo. Went there from 74-78. I would love to go
and try different exposures, slow shutter/fast shutter - see how it
affects the photo.

Have not been there since I graduated. Now I am in South Florida.
Havent seen snow in 17 years. Does it look any different?
Why don't you go up there and take some pictures of it and post
them at your site so we can look at your work and offer
constructive criticism?

Perhaps you see what most of us, like, see based upon your posting, a dimly lit room, stuff, like tossed around. Not very cool, dude!

When did you last go out on a date? Are you feeling lonelier than you would like? Do you seek that kind of attention that comes from a mind that cries out: “Any attention is good, even if I get it through behavior that is antisocial?”

Do you find yourself constantly feeling a need to put others down only because you are so weak in your own life? It doesn’t take a genius to realize that many who seek personal, child like attention in these forums do so by inciting weakly designed controversy built upon obvious personal weakness and deep seated insecurities. Dwell on this for a while and allow the message to seep into that itty bitty mind.

A tendency to cast aspersions on other peoples' work could be symptomatic of deeper issues caused by a very lonely life. An existence in which one has very little contact with "real" humans, so he attempts to cover his insecurities by taking cheap shots (figuratively and literally) at other people's work relying upon the anonymity of a computer and not considering whether or not he has been invited to cast his judgments or whether anyone even cares what he thinks. It is very easy for one with no skill to trash other's work. In many cases this behavior is due to inability of an individual to "perform" himself! He also fears that someone will find out that his personal attacks on others are due to this inability to “perform” personally. Do you get the message? Or is it too obtuse for you to comprehend?

Perhaps the frustrations you are harboring would have been less obvious if you had enjoyed a home life where your parents/guardians had taken heed to your pleadings to use their "...cameras just to take pictures of their kid, their dog, and flowers in the back yard." Maybe that would have made you feel more loved? (I think that I am about to cry!)

By the way, the photographs that are most treasured by me happen to be personal shots that I have made of family and friends, and I am secure enough not to care what anyone else says about them. I realize that there are people out there who are so insecure and superficial in their own lives that they just don’t, like get it! Dude.

I keep the lights bright, dude.

I guess I could post a picture of the room if you're all that curious about it.
When did you last go out on a date?
You're curious about that too?

LOL.

Excuse me, but this is a photography site. This is the open talk forum, but you can probably find better places than here to vent steam about whatever frustration you're feeling today.

Hope it gets better.

Ah! Afraid of the dark. Another interesting psychological sign. Perhaps the "bright lights" are compensating for something?

Not curious because I already know what it looks like. Please, don't bless us with photos of anything too personal. However, I would be interested in seeing what the quality of your work is. But not too interested (like having to click on a link), so make it easy for me!
You're curious about that too?
Believe me; I am not curious about it. In fact, if I cared at all it would be more likely that I'd be concerned and worried about it!
LOL.

I often noted that some individuals actually displace their own feelings by attributing those feelings to others. For example, they might say that some one "can probably find better places...to vent steam...frustration" when they are the ones who actually feel that compulsion. But if I said more, then I'd need to charge you!

I also find it interesting that you replied in this message as if my contribution was meant for you, isn't it? Why is this? What deep-seated fears are you harboring? Are you connecting personally to the way that I have described someone in this thread? Why would you begin this thread by stating that it was not meant as trolling? "Methinks thou speaketh too much."

In fact you are feeling much better now that someone is responding to your childish banter again, aren't you? It will give you something to do today. Believe me, you are a case study. I find it an interesting pursuit to read some of the more obvious posts by folks who are looking for the attention they lacked in childhood. Yes, cute and interesting. But not that interesting!

Yes, I hope "it" gets better, too.

Ya know, Backdoc, you just get to the point where you can't take the infantile chatter any more. Perhaps I shouldn't jump into the sandbox with these kinds of folks, but they make it so easy! I know you have made some excellent points, too. It just gets so tiring to see some of these guys demonstrating their inferiority so often! I try to remember the old saying: "Illegitimus non carborundrum." I'm sure you know that one (even if I misspelled it!). However, I'm also quite certain that the "Dude," will, like, have trouble figuring out the significance.

Have a good one!

Thank for the kind words of suppot I also get tired of some of the stuff that goes on. I dont know why he jumped on me after my first post, but I dont back down (which is not always a plus). Perhaps I did let him drag me down to his level.

Anyway, I am glad you like some of my photos. I believe you had said it in one of your posts, we take most of them for ourselves - but I dont mind sharing. The baseball ones, well, just having fun with a super zoom and no film costs. How else can you go to a game and take 30 shots to get one of the ball leaving the pitchers hand without it costing a fortune ( since at some games I take 140 shots) . I am lucky I can afford this great camera that allows me that fun. Got some good ones today of the Braves vs Mets.

Look forward to messaging with you again soon.

Doesn't surprise me that he would try to stir things up all around this site. It is a "little secret" of his...with "little" as the operative word, I'm sure!

I envy your being able to take the baseball shots. As a long time Braves fan, and an Atlanta Crackers fan before that, I love baseball. I'd love to take some shots, and who knows, we may get a NL team here in Northern Virginia, soon!

Yes, I take photos of "Fido" & whatever else I find interesting, amusing or beautiful. But just because I don't capture it in "award" quality does not mean that its not worth sharing!! And I didn't think pbase was only for photos taken with DSL cameras.
Good golly then when & if I post any of my photos...I beg you,
don't look at them! Because I have seen some excellent photos at
Pbase...
I have too.
and I have no special photo taking talents like some of
them seem to! I take photos because I enjoy doing it, and because I
want to share a few special moments with others.
Should you ever see ANY photos posted by me, remember, I am sharing
a moment...not a talent! My camera is more talented at taking
photos than I am!
What are you doing? Taking pictures of Fido wearing a birthday cap
with a dslr?

...those who cannot, snipe!

seeingisbelieving, I am in the same boat with you. I know this is probably blasphemy to some, but I have actually used my D1X with a 70-200 2.8 VR and a SB80DX flash to take pictures of my "fido." I really don't care if someone stumbles on those and makes fun of them by saying things like...

"...But it's kind of funny how some people are all tied up in cameras, who have the latest and the very best currently available, and you go to their pbase site and see some very, very ordinary pictures of their kids, some vacation pictures, maybe a picture of a flower in the back yard..."

My perspective is that there is nothing ordinary about these pictures, there are only "ordinary" people who may not have the context or inspiration to see to the heart of the shot.

I've also had the opportunity to take shots with the same camera (80-400 VR, this time) of what I would consider to be exceptional quality and interest and without any time to stage the photograph. Just happened to be at the right place at the right time. This time, in my own backyard (right next to "fido").

My only issue with this particular thread is the attitude some use to put down the photographic skills or subject matter chosen. I DO have trouble with that, and especially when those individuals don't show any capability beyond "sniping." Of course it could be that these folks just have trouble communicating, and I am taking their posts out of context?

But I'm with you. Take photos of what you enjoy.

If you can read this much, maybe you can read this from Tom's post

"Just happened to be at the right place at the right time. This time, in my own backyard (right next to "fido")."

Is there anything unclear on where the shot was taken? Are you sure? Can you say "backyard" , I knew you could.

Do you understand where the shot was taken? If not so by now, even a roadmap will not help, but like dude, thats what we expected.
You take that shot at the local zoo?
