This is for anyone who wants to use the Adobe Raw Converter with your 10D raw files. This method worked for me. But TRY THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK!

Make sure to make a backup of the any edited files before proceeding.

1) Open up C:\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop 7.0\Plug-Ins\Adobe Photoshop Only\File Formats\Camera Raw.8bi in a hex editor.

2) Do a string search for "D30".

3) Change that string to "10D".

4) Save the file.

Forgot to add that of course you will lose your ability to convert D30 raw files.

This works. I would make a copy of Camera Raw.8bi before you start in case you screw up. You can get a free hex editor at:

Does this mean it would use the D30 color profile when converting 10D images? If so it would probably be better to replace D60 with 10D. The only problem is that many of us have both D60 and 10D images we want to work with.

After you make the changes as you suggested save the file as Canon Raw-10D.8bi and leave it in the same directory as the file Canon Raw.8bi then you won't lose the ability to convert the D30 raw images.
