It seems depending what server you hit, you either get the old status page or the updated one that shows the order in some pre-production state. Weirdest system I've ever seen.

It's probably a caching issue or you're going through a load balancing router that is sending you to one of two (or more) different web servers that aren't in sync with each other.

Where did you find the 10D on Dell's site in the first place? When I look for digital cameras all I find are some P&S models.

Dell has so many problems with their website. I am very surprised given how the media touts them as a company using technology. You can order some things and they don't show up in your cart and then you have to switch between Home and Small Business (or at least I do) to get some orders to show up. Then once you buy, the timeline is all wrong and the shipping status is always missing.
My last order shipped in 2 boxes, but I only was able to get 1 tracking number.

look great by comparison. Still awaiting my 10D. I suspect that the order status describing pre-production is probably the correct one since my sales rep told me that it was in pre-production. Also, my credit card has been charged. Keeping my fingers crossed.

The number posted on their site appears to have access to product that does not appear on the site, at least when it initially becomes available.

I could have used my credit card, but I thought I could improve my position by opening up an instant credit line with Dell, 90 days same as cash. I figure you might get preference if the company thinks they can make a few additional bucks off interest.

Just got off the phone with Dell. The rep told me that "in production", means that it will be shipped on or before the 17th.

I finally got my update status to show what you guys were showing as regards to the delivery date. it switched back to Delayed later, but at least I'm not going nuts (or maybe I am?). Com'on 17th!

They WILL ship on or before 3/17. Dell is bad at their inventory system, but good at delivering promises. This is how it was with D60 in August. Now, with huge 10D supply...
