Why even consider a camera like the 14n, when the tried and proven
Fuji S2 won out over it and similar cameras at the PMA shoot-out?
AND, it can be had NOW, for only $2400! Read about it here:

What cameras were entered in the contest?

Notice the catagory before -

$1,200 to $2,499 (Unopposed)

Minolta DiMage 7Hi

The Minolta was unopposed in a catagory with the Nikon D100, Canon D60, or Canon D10 should have been an entry.

I doubt if the Kodak N14 was even entered in the shoot-out!

Philip

PS
I dislike the N14 but fair is fair.

Lou--

I think his point is that the Nikon and Canons are priced in the lower range, and since the Minolta was unopposed, he doesn't believe they were entered.

--I agree. Not very meaningful.

I agree. It doesn't say anything as we don't know what the S2 was up against.

Cheers

May I peacefully remind you that the 14n is 1$ shy of being in the s2's category (as is the Canon 1Ds btw)

It's still nice to see the camera does hold up to anything sub-4999$ it was up against

I own an S2 and I do not think the N14 camera competed. Even if it did, it would not have been fair to compare these cameras as the Kodak 14N is not the final product.

I am all for blowing my own horn because I have the S2 but if are competeng in any race, you must give some lead space to the handicapped. I am sure that the final Kodak tune ups will be a much better result than you think.

The other thing is that the two cameras even if they are in a similar body and can do similar things, are not to be put side by side simply because the CCDs are not the same size. It is like comparing formats and in that case my 4x5 wins. (It was under $ 5000.- also)

--Why should Canon users eat their hearts out. They have access to the 2 best DSLRS available the 1d and 1ds. Nothing else comes close.
