Please, whoever is in charge of this forum, remove all of the pointless and uninformative threads being created every other minute regarding the 10D. This forum is being inundated with threads posted by bored people who apparently have no life other than desperately waiting for their 10D to arrive. This forum needs a strong moderator. It's a true shame that this highly respected site has a forum which is quickly becoming the joke of the digital photography community. Phil, help us out here!

The complaints are about people like you Jerry. If you're insulted or upset about my request for some moderation, then you must condone the lack of forum etiquette occuring here. Just because I've only posted twice doesn't mean I can't voice what's painfully obvious. That there is a lack of moderation.

Why do you consider a group of people excited about a new camera to be idiocy? About 1 in 6 threads has to do with the 10D and they all address their content in the title. So if you don't like it, don't read it.
There is plenty of idiocy in the world, it's O.K. to get a little excited once in a while.

A forum which has mature people starting interesting threads and posting informative responses to those threads does not need a moderator. This used to be this type of forum. But someone like myself, who's been reading this and the other dpreview forums for quite some time, trying to gain some knowledge in the world of digital photography, is seeing a wonderful resource being ruined by what seems like teenagers coming over from the Nintendo forum and posting on here unsupervised. Like I said before, this particular forum needs a STRONG moderator until this 10D adolescent craze some people are experiencing passes.

This forum is not actively moderated in the sense that other forums are.
When new cameras are announced and due to be released thsi kind of thing always happens. It is just a fact of life here. No one is forced to read any threads they don't want to, so if you see a topic that does not interest you, just don't click on it.
Things will slow down in a few weeks if everyone gets their camera. Then we will have bug issues, my 10D AF is no better than or worse than my D60 and other complaining. With some still wondering why they still have not gotten their camera. Then when that dies down there will be rumors of the digital EOS 3 and the circle starts all over again

I am inclined to agree. Actually I am a Canon user myself, but I actually prefer to look at the Nikon or Fuji forums because there is less inane discussion about camera delivery dates or second hand resale values and more information about digital technique although they are all pretty bad as far as pure photography discussion is concerned.
Many users on this forum seem to forget that the aim of having cameras is to take pictures, not just trading them in for newer models.
