the reason of the 1,2,3 is the same.1. The RGB curves are not corrected for linear output (leads to
abnormal greys and makes it impossible to set the white balance
correctly).
2. Highlights are not color clipped, but the accelerating hue shift
with intensity leads to very abnormal colors.
3. The relation between color intensity and luminance level is more
or less incorrect. Luminance level within highlights is kept at the
same level for a long time and then abrubtly cut off.
Yes, the rate of color separation is increase with the noise same time.4. Noise, considerably more than PhotoPro generates.

Thanks Jeffrey, nice to see you around again. Several of your SD9 images are still among my top favorites. As you know, I have already used your images in some examples, and I have really enjoyed having those excellent quality raw files you provided last autumn! For example, the picture of the red poinsetta leaves with the water droplets is simply nothing else than completely out of this (bayer) world!Let me know if any of the images in my pbase gallery would be of

--Very good. It's just a question of will it be weeks or months.Well thanks a lot for explaining this issue.Hope you folks don't mind a quick lesson on color calibration.
How good are the chances? Now, if I can just get an SD-9 in my basement lab long enough to
get a real spectral response by projecting a spectrum directly into
the camera....
One of three things will happen. Either I'll finally be able to
borrow the SD-9 from work, or I'll be able to borrow one from one
of the big camera stores in the area (they do like getting
publicity from things like this), or someone in the Detroit area
will finally acquire one and come looking for good color profiles.
Ciao!
