I have a Canon S300 and am running a Powermac G4. I remember seeing a short article outlining the cost and respective pros and cons of ordering from around 6 online photo printing places. I never saved the article and now I need it. It was in Newsweek, by the way. Does anybody have any good advice or any good links?

Any information is greatly appreciated! thanks

I've been gettin very good results at Walmart.com . They seem to have some of the best prices as well.

If you have a Sam's club near you, you should check to see if they have an "Alladin" machine. This will allow you to develop your digital photos in 1 hour. My local Sam's pricing is only 20¢ per 4x6 and they turn out great!

at least while I was still using them, ofoto did an auto color correction on all their prints which sometimes threw off the color that I had painstakingly set in photoshop. shutterfly let you selectively disable their auto color correction. I currently use photoaccess.com which doesn't appear to muck with my colors. I'm sure there are many other good sites.

I saw that somebody had mentioned Sams as a place to get pictures. I have been burning my pictures on CD, then taking them to Costco with good results.

Good service, fairly quick, and the price pretty much beats anybody online. Yes, you would need to get them there. But, in a pinch if you are travelling and you really wanted pictures of a few good pictures, some of them will accept memory cards as well on their system.

Costco or Sams club is the way to go I get all my developing done there. The main reason is it is cheaper to buy from them then printing out yourself. And they also use photo sensitive paper, which in my opinion is better than printing with ink, most places use printers. Check out these prices. I mainly buy the 11x14's and have many pictures hanging in friends houses.

4x6 = .19 cents
5x7 = .69 cents
8x10 = 1.99
11x14 = 2.99

If you don't have a costco, wal-mart is also cheap, and who doesn't have a Wal-Mart in their town. I like it better than buying online because you can go in and look at the photos before you buy them.
19 cents each 4x6 at photoworks.com

epixel.com offers 4x6s for 25 cents a peice. They use the Fuji Frontier system (like Walmart) and the quality is very good. One thing I like about epixel over Wallmart is that epixel offers matte finish and borders. Walmart only offers glossy, no borders.
