Hi everybody,

My name is Jenny (a proud new S2 owner :-)) and I've been reading this forum for quite some time now, but this is my first post here. Everyone is extremely friendly and nice here but one guy stands out, IMHO...that's Mahesh. Not only does he share his wonderful pictures with us but he is also very helpful to other members, especially the newbies. And when he makes comments about other people's pictures, he always has something nice to say...he may point out the negatives such as overexposure or the image being a bit soft or the composition being a little off, but he always tempers his comments with a few positive aspects of the picture too. So what I'm wondering is...is this guy really this nice? Teski, Dioni, (maybe Malcolm)--sounds like you've met Mahesh...is he really this nice in "real" life? It's hard to believe! And he's a doctor and he's single...pretty cute too from his picture at DF's page ;-) Oh ya, if you're reading this, Mahesh, don't you go and get a big head now! :-) What's the point of this post...nothing too "photographic" or "Fuji SLRish", I guess. I just wanted to introduce myself and give a big thank you to all of you and especially to Mahesh. Hey Mahesh...I just e-mailed you...think we could do lunch? hummmmm? :-)

Hi Jenny,

Welcome to S2-ville.......at least as a now active member, after a while as a silent observer! Congratulations on getting your camera.

Regarding Mahesh, he certainly is a prince of a guy, huh? I haven't met him in person, but his personality shines forth here very consistently.

Hope to be seeing some of your pics real soon.

And don't forget that self portrait.

Best wishes,

David

IMHO, Mahesh and Teski are GREAT!!!!! They are both talented, intelligent and great photographers. I must add one additional person whom I have TREMENDOUS respect for, and that is DERREL. I have always found it a great pleasure to converse with him. He is extremely intelleigent, enlightened, a great photographer and a pleasure to share with. To ALL OF YOU....I give my sincere thanks. Stuart.

Hey Jenny -

Welcome to the forum! Mahesh is as cool in person as he is on the forums. I hang out with him somewhat regularly (when we can) and he is very nice and helpful and he knows his stuff. :-) Add the Doctor status in and what can you say? :-)

Take care,

Teski

Satisfaction is the end of progress.

First, thanks for the compliments...you actually made me blush...and that's hard to do with my skin tone :-) I agree that everyone here is very, very nice and helpful. There are great photographers in this forum like Dirk, Martin, Don, Mr. Russell...just to name a few...can't even begin to describe their talent. Then there are the promising and extremely talented new comers like Eric and Scrubber...I know they're gonna be great contributers! Then there are honest and construcive critiquers like Artichoke and Jacques. Oh ya, there's DF (David) with his awesome idea for a self-portraits and Mr. Stacy is just soooo frickin' funny! This forum really has everything. I can go on and on and on... But if I had to pick an "MVP" my vote would go for Teski. His being my friend and a great guy has nothing to do with it...but because he's consistently helped everyone out with great info, timely links, and kind words. It's pretty difficult to p*ss him off, even with zillions of questions about CR123A's or comparisons between S2/D100. He may pout a bit about the repeat topics, but ends up providing info and helpful links anyway :-)

Thanks for the e-mail, BTW. I just responded to it. :-)

At first I shot JPEG because I was naive and wanted quantity over quality.
Then I shot RAW, because I was still naive but wanted quality over
quantity. Now I've gone back to JPEG because I'm no longer naive, and I
want both quantity and quality.

Jenny:

Just wanted to say that your impressions of Mahesh are apparently right on the money. I have not met him but have seen many of his posts and admired many of his fine photos. I am chiming in to say that I second his nomination for Teski as the MVP on this forum. He too is a very talented individual as well as having enough knowledge in his head to burst the average skull. In addition, he is the most helful individual I have encountered on ANY forum. He is an incredible human being and I am fortunate to be counted among the many he has helped. Welcome to the Forum. Enjoy your fine camera.

Hi Jenny,

He is a heck of a guy! He helps me a lot as responds to my posts consistently and always there to offer advice. There are other great folks here too many to name. Teski is another great guy always there with endless patience helping those in need.

This truly a great forum as it tolerates total amateurs like myself.

Hope you have a lot of fun here!

That is a very nice compliment! I do agree as well that Derrel does post great information and obviously puts a lot of time and effort into his posts. I for one appreciate it.

Wow! What a nice set of compliments to come to tonight! MVP!?!? I don't know about that, but I'm really glad that I do help people out and that people appreciate my information and advice as I love to give it. This is a great group of people who are very talented.

Sometimes I think about if I had chosen the D100 and how much different my forum experiences would be. :-)

I agree with all of your comments about the people in your reply Mahesh. It's an awesome group isn't it?

Thanks buddy!

First off it's good to see you posting some Ralph! BTW...I just read your mail today and will respond soon...We're out of town so I may be a little slow.

This group, including yourself, make posting all the more worth while.

Take care buddy...I'll drop you a note soon. I hope all is well.
