The instructions for installing the Gradient files into Photoshop on the Adobe site are unnecessarily complicated.

All you have to do is go to your presets directory and drag the new sky gradients file to the gradients subdirectory in presets.

When you click on the right facing fly-out arrow at the top of the screen when you click on gradients, and look for the different sets of gradients, sky gradients will be there.

Thanks for tell us about these wonderful effects! I have just recently started using gradients and really am pleased with them.

I am sure some are aware of this free shareware site by Adobe.

I checked it today and they have a Great Free download of beautiful
sky gradients!

You can go here and download it for free. I think you have to be a
registered owner with an id and password as I am, but I am not sure.

Enjoy!

They are great aren't they??

Thanks for the tip on installing them too!

Please post one of your creations using the gradients. I will see if I can put something together too.

Thank you for posting the link and how to install. They look very interesting.--Burnie/SAIII

I just clicked on it and it went right to the gradient info.

Try again:

Perhaps if you are not signed in to Adobe with a registered product it may do that or if you have not come up with a user id and password.

Do you use the Adobe forums at all?

It should work. =/

I did not do a clean job on this extraction, but here is one example of using a sky gradient.

Yes, it is isn't it?? Would you mind showing me what it looks like??? Here is the original pic I used:

This one may have fit in better:

To extract her, I used the magnetic lasso to select and then copy. I had the settings at Feather: 5px, Width: 1px Edge Contrast: 10% Frequency 57 and Pen Pressure.

To be honest with you I don't know what most of those mean. =/

Maybe you can tell me the best settings to help blend in the pic.

Thanks a bunch!!

artificial :-)

I tried a radial on layer 1 and linear on another to create a
sunset effect. The radial is set to soft light and you'll get a
good ss.

Cheers!

Thanks for posting the example, Deedee. I have been playing with them and could not come up with anything I liked. Your example is great. Even the light on the little girl seems to complement the gradient - or visa versa
:-)
