Hi.

I installed the USB drivers and connected my F505 with the USB cable to the PC and everything worked fine from the beginning, I see the drive and I can load the files.

BUT: if I change the Memory Stick or turn the F505 off and on again or disconnect and reconnect the USB cable, the PC is dead!

With CTRL-ALT-DEL I see that a process named "msgsrv32" doesn't work anymore, I kill it and the PC lives again, but the connection to the F505 is not there and I can only reboot.

I have Win98 second edition, upgraded from Win98, upgraded from Win98 OSR 2. I don't want to reinstall Windows from scratch (I don't have a full Win98 SE, only the upgrade) and I don't want to connect via serial cable. I never used USB devices before.

Any solutions?
Thanks
Pippo

Try the following:

Control Panel
System
Device Manager Tab
Find Universal serial bus controller
Select
Click REMOVE

Now, unplug all USB devices (except for keyboard and mouse, if applicable)
and reboot machine.

Windows should now recognize the USB ports and reinstall USB driver.
Plug camera back in and see what happens.

Make sure you're not using a USB Hub (an extension that provides more USB outlets)

Thanks! It worked! I still managed once to make it freeze, but most of the time now I don't have any problems.
