Golden Gate Canyon State Park (Colorado)

Today we went up to Golden Gate Canyon State Park (by Golden, CO - where Coors beer is made), hoping to catch the Aspens in fall attire. Last year we were a bit too late and many leaves had already dropped. This year, we were a bit too early (argh) - only handfuls had made the changeover. On top of that, it was quite hazy, making a nice sharp mountain range panorama difficult.

Really enjoyed my "mini vacation" to Colorado via your Zing site. Nice to get away from it all for a few minutes. Really liked all of your shots, but my preference woud be for #s 2, 4, & 7. Very dramatic and produced a Colorado "glorious isolation" feeling for me. I hav relatives who live close to Ouray and find myself completely "spellbound" each time I am in that area. What's the deal with Colorado photographers and their photo postings? Either the high altitudes produces terrific photographers, or perhaps no matter which way you point your camera there, your're going to get a fabulous shot . Just kidding of course, as ther has been some obvious painstaking and successful framing/composition in your photos, and that is definately a reflection of great skill and not just "luck" The lighting on # 2 is terriffic!!! Thanks Curt. I knew I could count on you for some kind words.

I think we may be going back next week. Hopefully we can get some more colorful shots. The aspens are quite beautiful when caught in full fall glory. Perhaps it won't be so dang hazy too and I can a good panorama (the park has built a really nice deck to take panoramas from).

I agree with respect to Jan France. Every time I see one of Jan's shots I think, "I want to be like Jan."

...I really enjoyed the landscapes you took at Golden Gate Canyon. We're hoping
to get some aspen shots in the next week or two, also. I love aspen!

Really a great surprise to see your name as a poster over here on STF. Kind of feels like a celebrity is in the house! You photos are among the most beautiful I have ever seen. I have referred many folks from the STF to the Cybershot Photo Forum, when I see questions here re: the S70 quality. Specifically I have suggested they search out your photos for a lesson in what this great camera is capable of. You have an incredible talent.
