Let's see some Canon D Waterfall Shots

I should have embedded the pic, sorry. I need to go back there and try stopping and use a long exposure. Still not too bad, going by at 50mph tho'...lol

It was a difficult range of contrast. Unfortunately, though I like the image very much on screen I've had trouble getting a good print of it. Despite a very good match to on screen it somehow comes across as contrived on paper. I'm still working on it :-)

Hi, Noel. Beautiful shot. This one's from across the street from my vacation home in Petoskey, MI.

Mike
Okay, so we have these awesome SLRs to play with occasionally (even
those of us who work with them can play sometimes, too, no?). They
deliver such wonderful color and we can do things like long
exposures, control the depth of field, etc.

Let's see some of your refreshing, awesome, wet, wonderful
waterfall shots. Here, I'll start:

Thank you all for contributing such beautiful images to this thread. I had started by trying to answer each post, but there aren't enough hours in a day!

Keep 'em coming! I, for one, can't get enough of waterfalls.

Hi Noel,

Good idea, some really nice shots here, makes a change from all the D10 talk!

This is near to where we used to live up until a couple of months ago, Lochnaw, Stranraer. Moved to Co Kerry in Ireland now hopefully catch some over here now.

Regards Sean,
D30

The are about $150 for a 50" X 50" if you:
  • Convert to profile.
  • Upload uncompressed TIFF (HUGE HUGE FILE)
My results have been nothing short of great from them.

I guess that is just a tribute to Canon and their incredible IS series of lenses. I really do need to get me some of them...great picture by the by!

I do love the stark contrast between the smooth, flowing water and the hard roots, plants, rocks, etc. I've got to get out and do more long exposure shots.

The long exposures have a great effect on the picture. I took that shot in the Great Smokey Mountains. lots of fog and rain and very overcast that day which really helped the whole mood.
