Max should not be legal

Maurice Daniels

If you continue the name calling, then I suggest you leave the thread. Ther eis no need to use name calling and while I am pretty thick skinned, at this point your epithets are offensive.

Tx.

The sad thing about the Machista community is that they resort to name calling and near-relgious comments to defend their platform. Wouldn't they be more effective (and the Mac a better machine) if they used the same sort of energy vs. Apple?

A lot of my complaints, are that Apple seems to me to mistreat is users. What other PC maker only offers a one year warranty? The Wintel world may be a monopoly at the SW and chip level, but the cacophiny of HW makers is truly amazing!

When I tried to buy a Mac, aside from price, I was struck by how limited the Mac worls is in terms of choices of HW. It is not that the Mac HW isn't nice, but it needs to compete with PC workd where there are lierally doxens or maybe hundred of makers of mother boards alone The choices in PC land are awesome!

In a real way I am a Mac fan. I am really impressed with Jaguar and I am not impressed with MS' efforts at improving their interface. I also like using an OS that is closer to the world OS/Unix. But, for me to be able to buy the & %$ thng, I need to put up with Apple's marketing and that is very, very irritating.

If I had enuff money and had bought a Mac, I am sure I would enjoy it BUT I would get angry, as you did, that I could not buy a state-of-the art Hard drive or a DVD+RW drive, or put multiple optiacal spoindles in my CPU box, or .........................................

Whose fault is this? I suggest it is the fault of an overly loyal Mac-consumer community that has been all too willing to put up with Job's marketing Max that look like toasters or gumdrops.

Just spent 4 hours ediiting a video on an I-Mac and an XP PC.

Why anyone, would spend twice the money on a NAC (spell checker
not required) is absolutely, totally beyond me.

-Have a look at the (moderated by Apple) discussion boards on
http://www.apple.com for I-Movie3/I-DVD/I-etc.

I needed the video to work on the PC and the MAC so I tried it.
What speed CD-ROM, (do you Nacs ever get to know, or is just the
last JOB lot bought, the speed of the CDs/DVDs/ you pay over the
top bucks for) do they put in an I-Mac? Burnt video wouldnt run
right at all from CD ROM so I had to copy it to the Macs HDD. Then
all ok. But it took three times as long (??x) to copy it as it did
to write it on the PC (40x Plextor).

Oh.. In Windows Movie at least I can see a thumbnail of ALL the
clips I import and my Titles also work. From I-Movie currently no
Titles......... (But only using MAC hardware, software, and Quick
Time ------ alll from Apple).

Stephen is RIGHT.

And it seems an awful lot of MAC users are realy stuck on spelling,
typing, and extracting anything from the PC users except the RAW
god damn facts.

MAC OSX - it's poor, it has potential, but not at the expense of
denial!.

Stephen asked if it was right to spend twice as much of your money
to get something that does the job just as well.

I disagree. It does it better!. I think it is ultimately better to
spend half the money on getting the job done better, faster, and
with more available choice.

GO LOOK.
GO TRY. (HARD - it is different (XP) but it's so much better).

Stephen had a valid opinion, he probably excpected the flaming abuse.

Doesn't that make his (AND MINE and others) argument so much stronger.

I have no hate for Bill Gates, why should I. It is illogical.
I don't really know what you are saying: I'm doing video with my iMac (Pioneer DVR-104 Superdrive) and I CAN read all the titles and thumbnails with iMovie3 (and doing the chapters with iDVD... Perhaps has XP a DVD authoring capability inside?). Movie Maker is just a piece of cr*p, it doesn't support ANY movie format except some very very useless. With iMovie I can export in Mpeg1-2-4, AVI, QT with every type of compression known to the man (and if I like I can use thirdy parties codecs instead of Apple ones... Does the Holy MS the same?). XP, in it's PRO version, is the better OS for PCs (the Home is a skylarks mirror), but it cost twice of OSX and has lesser features. My Epson CX5200 multifunction printer was recognized on an XP machine TWICE every time I turn it on. On OSX I can use two different drivers on the same printer (Epson's officials and Gimp-Print opensource drivers) without an hassle (both installed in 5 minutes against the half-an-hour spent on XP). And regarding the expensiveness of Mac, I just ordered the dual 1.42, where I can put the new Samsung 48x combo drives and four IBM 180 Gb ATA in a RAID configuration (without any dedicated board... OSX supports software RAIDs) bought in a normal PC store. All without any driver or BIOS configuration required.

There are studies that people using Mac is more productive than
people with PC's.
I am talking about people who use office. office is office.
And they are not that expensive if you compare with other brands.
Think on a iBook for $999 or a eMac for $999.
the mac is expensive at that price but in nay case, I have no
problem with folks being allowed by puters on competitve bids. But
if that ahppens ...Mac would lose mot of the time. The only way
most Macs can be bot in gov. is by specifiying Mac only.
Mac's are Unix based so there is a huge amount of software for them
specialy usefull for scientific and goverment applications.
1. Win XP is also UNIX based.
2. If you wanna run UNIX, LINUX plus Intel beats Mac.
AND you can still run windows on the same machine.
A single UltraSparc-IIIe comparable in speed to a Dual 1Ghz will
run you for about $ $19,995.00 (

Yep. And if one wants to match the Sun, pros buy lInux.

Whilst I cannot, within the rules, refer to you as a blithering idiot, I thought you might like to re-read the rule that most applies to your post.

Trolls - Anyone deliberately antagonizing other forum users by posting 'flame bait' type messages are not welcome. See first rule.

p.s. If you are lonely, feel the need for company or conversation, or feel as if you somewhat matter to others- is there not some way you can harass the people of your neighbourhood rather than us? Perhaps if you went to the window and began yelling nonsense at your neighbours, that would draw attention to you. Perhaps you could throw your garbage into the street in front of passing cars. Might I ask, what is it that you profess, in your role as 'professor'? Actually, save the answer for someone who cares to hear you. You could suggest a way to have you eat something that you are violenetly allergic to, or perhaps find a way to block your posts from showing up on the various forums. Now that would be useful.
Max should not be legal in government purchases. I see a lot of
Max in research labs. A FEW ARE JUSTIFIED by special SW.
Otherwise I think it is wrong to allow tax funds to be spent this
way.............................................................

and now I will retreat and await the flames.
