I value your informed opinion. In my next post I will attack other faith based intitative.

There's no chance that I'll ever understand why people get so
worked up over this...
....but it does seem almost civil after the recent OTF scene...

I don't really know what you are saying: I'm doing video with my iMac (Pioneer DVR-104 Superdrive) and I CAN read all the titles and thumbnails with iMovie3 (and doing the chapters with iDVD... Perhaps has XP a DVD authoring capability inside?). Movie Maker is just a piece of cr*p, it doesn't support ANY movie format except some very very useless. With iMovie I can export in Mpeg1-2-4, AVI, QT with every type of compression known to the man (and if I like I can use thirdy parties codecs instead of Apple ones... Does the Holy MS the same?). XP, in it's PRO version, is the better OS for PCs (the Home is a skylarks mirror), but it cost twice of OSX and has lesser features. My Epson CX5200 multifunction printer was recognized on an XP machine TWICE every time I turn it on. On OSX I can use two different drivers on the same printer (Epson's officials and Gimp-Print opensource drivers) without an hassle (both installed in 5 minutes against the half-an-hour spent on XP). And regarding the expensiveness of Mac, I just ordered the dual 1.42, where I can put the new Samsung 48x combo drives and four IBM 180 Gb ATA in a RAID configuration (without any dedicated board... OSX supports software RAIDs) bought in a normal PC store. All without any driver or BIOS configuration required.Just spent 4 hours ediiting a video on an I-Mac and an XP PC.
Why anyone, would spend twice the money on a NAC (spell checker
not required) is absolutely, totally beyond me.
-Have a look at the (moderated by Apple) discussion boards on
http://www.apple.com for I-Movie3/I-DVD/I-etc.
I needed the video to work on the PC and the MAC so I tried it.
What speed CD-ROM, (do you Nacs ever get to know, or is just the
last JOB lot bought, the speed of the CDs/DVDs/ you pay over the
top bucks for) do they put in an I-Mac? Burnt video wouldnt run
right at all from CD ROM so I had to copy it to the Macs HDD. Then
all ok. But it took three times as long (??x) to copy it as it did
to write it on the PC (40x Plextor).
Oh.. In Windows Movie at least I can see a thumbnail of ALL the
clips I import and my Titles also work. From I-Movie currently no
Titles......... (But only using MAC hardware, software, and Quick
Time ------ alll from Apple).
Stephen is RIGHT.
And it seems an awful lot of MAC users are realy stuck on spelling,
typing, and extracting anything from the PC users except the RAW
god damn facts.
MAC OSX - it's poor, it has potential, but not at the expense of
denial!.
Stephen asked if it was right to spend twice as much of your money
to get something that does the job just as well.
I disagree. It does it better!. I think it is ultimately better to
spend half the money on getting the job done better, faster, and
with more available choice.
GO LOOK.
GO TRY. (HARD - it is different (XP) but it's so much better).
Stephen had a valid opinion, he probably excpected the flaming abuse.
Doesn't that make his (AND MINE and others) argument so much stronger.
I have no hate for Bill Gates, why should I. It is illogical.
----On average, could please tel us how many more time a Win XP based
machine will freeze or crash compared to a Mac?

I am talking about people who use office. office is office. There are studies that people using Mac is more productive than
people with PC's.
the mac is expensive at that price but in nay case, I have noAnd they are not that expensive if you compare with other brands.
Think on a iBook for $999 or a eMac for $999.
problem with folks being allowed by puters on competitve bids. But
if that ahppens ...Mac would lose mot of the time. The only way
most Macs can be bot in gov. is by specifiying Mac only.
1. Win XP is also UNIX based.Mac's are Unix based so there is a huge amount of software for them
specialy usefull for scientific and goverment applications.
2. If you wanna run UNIX, LINUX plus Intel beats Mac.
AND you can still run windows on the same machine.
Yep. And if one wants to match the Sun, pros buy lInux.A single UltraSparc-IIIe comparable in speed to a Dual 1Ghz will
run you for about $ $19,995.00 (

Max should not be legal in government purchases. I see a lot of
Max in research labs. A FEW ARE JUSTIFIED by special SW.
Otherwise I think it is wrong to allow tax funds to be spent this
way.............................................................
and now I will retreat and await the flames.
