It's very simple. Just take some little time :)

I did an auto-level first, then the channel swap with red and blue.

then I created one layer for the little paved path and put the mode to Color. then you pick the color that you want and use the spray tool to paint it. You can ajust the intensity of the color with the transparency of the layer.

Then I created another layer for the red base of the lamp and did the same thing. you can create many layers with color blending mode and color your IR photo. I really like this colring.

But I guess that's how you did your colored black and white no?
