Hi everyone,
Just recieved my Canon Powershot G3 4 days ago and couldn't be happier.

It's my 3rd digital camera and the first entitled the name "camera", so many options for creativity. Still, the only down side I found after 4 days is the auto focus and the viewfinder as you all mentioned.
thanx to all of you.

Here's my new Gallery after a few days of photography. I'd love to hear your thoughts.

Set your autofocus to Single and you will be even happier. In continuous mode it is too slow at focusing. Many threads have been written here about that.

thanks for your remarks,

I already did set my autofucos to single as I read hear from what olga wrote. and it does preform better, but still not great and has a few minor problems. I pretty much read every thread I find on G3 and try to learn.
If you've got any more remarks I'll bee happy to hear. :-)

Very nice pictures and composition too Role. The flower picture was somewhat blurry and I wonder if you used the "Macro" setting to take that picture. Sometimes it's better to use Macro and manual focus on close-ups. You've got a good start on this great camera and hope to see many more from you.

Your beautiful flower photo had a slow shutter speed so that made it a blurry flower photo.

You're kidding about the Four Seasons, right?

I like the compositions, but at full zoom (28.8) the strong verticals are bending (pincushioning) more than I would expect. Not sure what you can do about this, other than back off the zoom a bit.

What do you mean kidding? It is the four seasons hotel.

can you please give an example of a photo where you can see pincushioning?

since I don't have anymore light availible and I can only use the built-in flash, do you think by using the flash I could get better results?

maybe by incresing the F number, I could get more DOF and then the whole flower will become sharp. what's the technique of using fill in flash?

I'd aprecciate any peace of advice you could give me.

thanks.

Left side of Tel-Aviv, slight concave effect. Not sure about the right side.

Right side of Netanya Fountain, same thing.

If you back off the telephoto a bit, this effect should go away. (At least in theory, I haven't played with it much.)
