Ok, now that I've gone ahead and ordered my camera from Dell
(still waiting, btw), I'm researching carrying cases. I want something
that the camera will fit into with room for extra cf cards, and perhaps
an extra battery. Something that has a shoulder strap would be
preferred. What do you guys recommend? I"ve been looking at the
Crumpler bags, but don't know which size would fit the camera. Help :)
Thanks!

I just received my s45 and went through the same exercise of trying to find a carrying case. I went with aNova Mini from Lowepro - cost about $25.00US. It has plenty of room for extra cards, a spare battery, sunglasses, etc. - yet is still rather compact. Plus, its padding is excellent and it has a shoulder strap. Hope this helps.

I am also looking for a nice slim case for my s45.
I have red about the canon pcs-30 soft leather case,
has anyone tried it out?

The threads that hold the belt loop on mine broke after 6-8 weeks of somewhat light use. This resulted in the camera dropping onto a concrete walk, fortunately I noticed it and the camera was not damaged. I now use a Lowepro on the belt (or shoulder) and the Canon PCS30 when I carry the camera in my briefcase or computer bag.

Thanks Doug, one more question is the case slim fitting towards the camera?

I've got the PCS-30 case and like it a lot. Since I read your message about the PCS-30 earlier, Doug, I've been examining mine frequently for strength in the belt loop. So far it is holding up quite nicely, but your experience is disconcerting. I hope it was a manufacturing error and mine will be OK.

For the orignal posted question, the case is small and just fits the S45. There is a flat hard shell protection sewn between the leather and plush inside that protects the camera. I carry my spare battery and CF card in my pocket. Works quite nicely for me.

Hi,

How bout the Lowepro D-RES 8? It fits my S45 perfectly. It was really designed for digital cameras.

Tomas – The case provides a nice slim fit for the camera, with a wide belt loop but no room for a spare battery or CF. I carried a spare battery in my pocket as Gary does. It was unfortunate for me as the cam case was the ideal size, however I still use it when traveling to protect the camera. I purchased the Lowepro D Res 20 AW for use on the belt, this one has room for a spare battery, CF and is still fairly compact.

At least the Canon case provided enough protection for the cam to survive the unintentional drop test.

The Tamrac Digital 2 (model 5692) is also a nice bag with an extra pocket and a nice belt loop. It fits the camera very well.

I went to BestBuy to buy a case for my S45. I finally narrowed down my choices to Lowepro Z10 and Targus Classic II DCRC 01. At $8.99 for the Lowepro and $7.99 for the Targus, price wasn't a factor. Both have shoulder stirp and belt loop.

The major difference between the two is Lowepro has a zipper for the main compartment while Targus uses self-adhesive closure. I finally decided that I like the Targus better because I can get the camera out faster without worrying about the LCD being scratched by the zipper. The downside of course is that self-adhesive closure does not close as tightly.

I have been using the Targus for about a month now and am generally happy with it. It has a front zipper pocket which can hold at least two extra CF cards and a spare battery, which I do routinely.

have considered canon pcs-20, i just bought it and my s45 fits perfectly, and there is space for 2 extra batteries(!) and CF.
