Can someone shed light on this situation. The line only appears
when the camera is set to ISO 400. It is faint, but appears at the
lower left portion of the photo. I believe I have a defective G3

I had the same problem (even more visible:

exchanged for a new one. This is something that can get worse over
time.

--You mentioned that you returned your camera. Do you now have a G3
and have you since experienced the same problem.
