15mm image

Carl, what plug-in are we talking about here? The difference is obvious and the correction much more natural. I must have missed Geir's initial message...

15-30mm lens, ISO400 - F4,5 - 1/60s, the spots where to yellow but
I fixed it in photoshop with Geir's "plug in". And, well, that fix
saved a lot of images for me..

Thanks Geir!

It's a colour fine-tune made with Hue/Saturation (and you load Geirs settings file) setting in Photoshop. Probably with the D60's Macbeth color checker as the goal. I saved both (the ones from Phils review) and applied the fix to the SD9'n checker. And oala, the colours are suddenly much the same as the D60's.

I'll try to make my own to; we could have a little competition?! :)

Geir, correct me if I'm wrong!

Just to make this point clear, Geir made some presets for the hue/saturation tool of photoshop. I think this way it is better for experienced people because you are not looked on one color profile. You have some presets to play around and you can very easily modify them. They do quite the same than what I described here:
http://forums.dpreview.com/forums/read.asp?forum=1027&message=4319533

Geir's presets are much more finetuned, but make sure you have a picture with good whitebalance before you start with the hue/saturation tool and Geir's presets. The easiest and in most cases best way to fix the white balance is the color weel of Photo pro. There are certain Photoshop Plug ins for this job but they did not a good job in my opinion, they just help to see what went wrong / the difference of the real Color temperature and the one the Camera was set to.

Carl, you have made some real nice compositions with people!

Considering all the nice portraits and people you have been photographing, this should do some "magical" tricks to the skin tones! Skin tones should become near perfect after applying the color profile. I'm just happy to help you out a bit. I want to become a happy SD9 owner too - hopefully in a few months - and you can bet I wouldn't do this work with the colors otherwise! ;-)

Keep up the good work!

Cheers,
Geir

You're the greatest!

It's fun to see how some people criticize technology and sees only the weakness and preaches about it. Then there is some that sees the problem AND does something about it!

It's pure joy to use your profiles, and I don't know what I would do without them!

Thank's!

Kim, I sent an email to your online.no account yesterday at the time 17.41, didn't you get it? Anyway, as you have noticed, I uploaded the profiles to my homepage today because of the increased demand!

Good morning Rick,

On my monitor, the upper picture has a slight yellow cast to it. The lower pictue does not. I will admit that I am not the color guru around here and did not notice this in your original posting. I find that this whole process is causing me to reinvigorate (revamp) my limited color discernment abilities, although I keep telling the Missus it will not be right until I can have that 23" Sony LCD please, pretty please, I'll wash dishes for a week. Oh come on now.
