I am about to purchase a new Mac. I am leaning towards buying an iMac which comes with OS X and OS 9.

I currently use my F707 on my iMac which runs OS 8.6 - I have not had any problems with downloading / viewing the pics off of the F707.

Will I be able to use my F707 with a Mac running one of these newer operating systems??? As I understand it, the new iMacs allow the user to jump back and forth from using OS 9 and OS X depending on the needs of the program being used.

Does anyone have a F707 and use it on a Mac with OS X or OS 9.x???

What can I expect?

Thanks in advance.

No problems with OS X (10.2) either. You don't even have to install any of the Sony software. Simply hook the USB from your camera to the Mac and a "Memory Stick" icon appears on the desktop. Also, the Image Capture application is automatically run. Image Capture is part of OS X and allows you to download some or all of your pictures/movies to a directory you designate. The downloaded images have high-res (128x128 pixel) icons in the Finder so you can tell what they are. Very slick.

Have used my F707 for the past year with my iBook. Recently returned from Belize shooting 200-300 shots a day. Plug in the chip and immediately download to the hard drive, burn a cd, then erase the chip and off I go the next day. The Mac couldn't be any better running OS 9 or in my case, now running OX 10.2 alone. Upgraded PS 7 and Ilustrator to native OS X. Apple has the answer.
Hope that helps.
