--Picked up this printer from Comp USA (Woodland Hills, CA). This

printer rocks! Set up was quick and right out of the box, the pictures were great. Tried 4x6 Canon Photo Paper Pro borderless and was

stunned by the amazing quality. Tried inkjetart Micro Ceramic Luster 8 x 10 and was again extremely pleased.

I have an Epson 2200 which is a great printer as well, but the i950 is

far easier for the average person to use. The easy printer software is simple. Make sure to go to preferences and set for highest (not
default).

Though I have only printed out a handful of pictures, my initial impression is great!! Interested in comments from others.

I also have the i850 and found it to be the best printer I have ever had.
(previosly had epson photo 700 junk and Lexmark z53).
It is great with the right paper but does not work very well with the Kodak
or not at all with HP. I have printed about 300 pictures with canon, OD,
Epson, and jrtPrint Pro and as you say this printer is awesome.

Were you able to find the i950 online? Checked Compusa website with no luck...also how much coin did you have to drop for it.

I just went to CompUSA and bought mine $249. I have never had a good photo printer. I printed a scanned photo and it looks almost like the original.

Hi hechtesq,

This may sound stupid (given the price difference), but how does print quality compare between the Epson 2200 and i950? Do you prefer one over the other?
Thanks.

I was in the Woodland Hills Comp USA last thursday and didn't see it.
Maybe I will go back by there tomorrow.

You must ask for it as it is not yet on display, but they are in stock.

$250 + $53 for 2 year extended warranty(which includes USB 2 cable) is a better deal than online.

Fastest, quietest, best quality picture printer I have ever had BTW.

-- Make sure you ask salesperson to check stock in back. At first, he
never heard of the printer. He eventually went in the back and found
five (Woodland Hills), don't know how many are there now.

I don't think I have used it enough to make a fair comparison against

the Epson 2200. I will say that right of the box, the pictures are awesome and it is extremely easy to use. I would think that for the average person, the Canon is the way to go. Ease of use and quality make it first rate.
No regrets at all!

Had mine for about a week. Printed about 20 4x6 and 1 8x10. Very Very happy.

Have not experimented yet, what's the impact of using the "vivid" and the "noise reduction" options?
