Any recommendation for a good camera backpack that can accommodate two pro camera with lenses attached?

I always carry two pro size camera with 3 or 4 lenses out there, currently have 3 different pack that can accommodate my gears, have a Tamrac shoulder bag that can hold 1DS3+ 70-200 IS II attached and D800E with grip + 24-70G attached and a 35G + 85L stored in between the two combo, but shoulder bag is not as comfortable as backpack when I need walk out there for hours and hours which is typical for event shooting for me. Also have a Lowepro backpack that can accommodate a 1DS2 or 1DS3+ either 24-70 or 70-200 attached but the other body and lens has to be separated, it also holds 2 or 3 extra small prime like the 35L or 35G, 85L, 135L and some little junks, both bag works OK so far but just wondering if anyone can recommend a different backpack that can fit two pro camera body with one short and one long lens attached and also have some extra space for 2 or 3 small primes, that will be ideal for my style of shooting (for event shooting only, i have totally diffrent set up for hiking ) . Oh, that's for getting to and from the location to location, some times if I have VIP parking I don't even need to carry a big bag, I just have two combo hanging on my shoulder and a small fanny pack for few primes and a few extra batteries, but some times I have to park 5 or 6 blocks away and some times I even need to take public transit to get from location to location then the carrying bag became very important, when I am actually there and start shooting, I use BlackRapid double strap so very comfortable and no issue at all even shooting for 6 or 7 hours straight with two heavy combo.

Anyone have experience on this one?

I used to have a LoweProw AW Photo Trekker II and it was a decent bag but not ergonomically designed for long treks. A couple years ago, a company from the US came up to Canada to do a show and tell on their new line of backpack style camera bags. The company is called F-Stop Gear. I tried on a couple of the models and it felt pretty good and ended up buying a Tilopa BC Mountain Series version.

They are designed just like an internal frame backpack and they are fully adjustable for support and weigh distribution with molle attachment system integrated into it for further expansion. They've got good water resistance built right in and offer and optional rain cover for heavier downpours.

One of the great things about it is that the system is modular ie you can buy different sizes of what they call ICU for your needs. So you can take a lot of gear or little gear and have lots of space for spare clothes etc. It's supports hydration systems as well. The other cool feature is you can always buy smaller or larger shells for the ICU and they will work in them (cept for the X-Large ICU).

One of the nice features is that the pack opens up on the back side of the bag for camera gear as opposed to conventional camera backpacks which require you to put the back to the floor and access it from the front. The plus side to opening up from the back is that you're NOT putting the dirty/dusty part of the bag that was on the floor onto your clothes/back. Ever had to shoot in a light rain or mist and needed to get into your bag and then put the bag back on only to get the back of your shirt wet and muddied? :P

I recently took my bag out with me during a 14 day road trip with lots of daily hiking throughout the US Southwest and it was a god sent! No sore shoulders or back! The bag took a beating in the dust, dirt, rocks and it's still going strong.

No I don't work for F-Stop Gear but wish I did and also wish I'd bought this bag a lot sooner! My China and two Hawaii treks would have been sooo much more comfortable!

I gave my brother-in-law my old Lowepro AW Phototrekker II for this trip and he's given it back and will be buying an F-Stop Mountain series bag for Christmas. lol

Just realized that you're an urban shooter not backcountry trekker.

Ditto on the Think Tank bags. Nothing beat's a bag on wheels for urban shooting. I have a Pelican case I take with me when I shoot weddings/events. Works as a seat when I've got a couple mins break in between. My bro-in-law uses a Think Tank case/bag. It's taken quite a beating and still shows very little signs of wear on it. Pretty solid bags and worth every penny.

I have a Think Tank "Shape Shifter" backpack. It carries 2 camera bodies and has padded pouches for 3 lenses. Also lots of other storage spots - including one for a laptop/tablet. Worked great for my "travel kit" to Maui - 7D with 70-300L, 17-55/2.8, 100/2.8L Macro and 10-22. Also is perfect for carrying my gear for HS football games, when I shoot with 2 bodies and carry wider lenses for pre-post game "buddy shots."

For long hikes I love my F-Stop Tilopia BC backpack. With an XL ICU you'd be easily able to accomodate 2 pro body's and a respectable amount of lenses or other gear. Be sure to check this brand before buying something! I tried Lowepro, including their Phototrekker series but F-Stop is the first really good backpack I found for my gear.

buy a lowe pro top loader for one body/lens combination and have the other in the back pack. I find it more useful in this setup when out and about as one camera is always accessable.

Hey,

Sorry, I am late to the game on this one. I currently own the F-Stop Loka and just love it. I wrote a review on it last year. If you decide not to go with the F-Stop, the Think Tank, as has been noted earlier, is also excellent.

Very comfortable even with a full load, has weather cover, extremely well made, great padding and very versatile; thoroughly recommend.

Kind regards

Thanks for the suggestion, but from looking at the picture of the bag, i don't think it will accommodate two pro bodies with lens attached, did you personally tried it with this configuration yourself? I mean just some small lens not the big white super telephoto. my typical walk around/event set up includes 1DS3+70-200 2.8 IS and D800E + 24-70G or 1Ds2+24-70L or anything in the similar size and weight, I have few backpack now that can take a pro body + 70-200 attached and a few extra pro size bodies with few small lenses separated, just want to get a new bag that I don't have to have the lens and body separated.

+1 on the F-Stop Loka

I normally have two bodies; a 5DII & a 7DII, with a 70-200 2.8, a 24-105L and usually a couple of flashes; it all does fit. However if you want even more room then there is the Vertex 300.
Kind regards

Definitely my next bag, but I'll wait until they can keep them in stock. I have a problem pre-ordering a $350 bag from a small manufacturer.

I have and love the KATA 222UL. Comes in black or white.

I can fit a lot of gear in there.
