First 2 pics done with the M9, and the last with the Nikon D3S and a 24-70.
Processed in Lightroom 4 with the same adjustments.

Keep the fun real.

you nailed the exposure in the nikon. lovely.

unfortunately, the M9 blew highlights. sadly, looks like just about 1EV too much.

Thanks Photo (Meme is your 2nd name?)
I agree, but fortunately there's still room to play with the Raw files.

This is one of the things I'm looking forward to with the new 'M', being able to see exactly what's going on in Live View or with the EVF attachment.
Higher ISO is also Really exciting!

not so sure about this - pls. take a look at histograms. 1EV over - no way! actually i like it better then d3s' one...

This assertion really isnt supported by the photos shown. The bg in the d3s shot is also 100% blown; it's just greyed out more. It isnt surprising that both bgs have blown areas--deep interior vs direct sun is way too much range for any camera. Looking at the woman's face, she looks too dark in the last shot, and more natural in the first one.

The detail in the d3s shot looks crispier (not in a good way), but if these were both given the same processing, then i would bet that with optimal brocessing for each one individually they'd both look very similar.
