As with many longtime Olympus DSLR shooters we have gotten by with less then cutting edge sensors for a long time. Most of us stick with Olympus because of the lenses. Now that Olympus has a class leading sensor, to not put this into a traditional DSLR would be a betrayal to your loyal customers.

If you believe like I do that the 43rds system is to good to be abandoned, and that you would buy a 43rds body with the EM5 sensor then let's let Olympus know!

HIT REPLY IF YOU WOULD BUY A 43rds CAMERA WITH THE EM5 SENSOR, LET'S SEE IF WE CAN GET A FULL THREAD!!

If you think this is a waste of time hold your tongue, this for those of us that want an E7 only and all replies count as a yes for E7!

Not everyone wants a tiny camera, many are happy with the size of the E5. Ideally you would have two DSLR's, one Exxx size and one E7 size. Maybe as I've written before, the Exxx could be an EVF (pro pen?) while the Ex still uses an OVF for those that need or want one

Come on Olympus build it and they will come.

yes, soon

Whyis it always about an E5 replacement. I'm sure there are far more EXX and Exxx users out there. Are you happy just to see us dumped with no where to go unless we are prepared to pay 3 times what our budget allows.

If it is priced like the E-30 or E-5 a maybe (75% chance).
If it is priced more affordably, definitely (100%).

OLYMPUS!,...I would buy a DSLR with the 16 mp sensor. I skipped the E-5 because it was not that much better than the E-30. I'd even pay $1699 USD. Charles Baxter

Yes, maybe. Otherwise No. It would be waste of resources for Olympus to develop such product. Small compacts with interchangeable lenses is a different story, except one has to buy new lenses for it again. So it's a double loss for the remaining FT shooters. Painful as it is, such is life, chose your system wisely.

I appreciate the E-5 a lot. But I would like to have more DR and more headroom for higher ISO values.
If the E-6/E-7/E-5s should apear count me in.

Cheers

I want a similar to E-5 sized DSLR. I have no use for a little camera. I have no use for an EVF now or in the future.

Don't forget, Olympus has made many official annoucements in the past, that if you shoot Exxx series that the Pen would be your upgrade path, that statement has never been made regarding the Exx & Ex series.

I too would love to see an Exxx either EVF or OVF, time will tell but not holding my breath.

Now than my m43 lenses outnumber my 4/3 lenses, I doubt I'd be going back.

Now IF they had come out w an E-5xx sized camera w the E-M5 sensor before I replaced my stolen 4/3 gear, I might have gone that route.

The E-5 would have been good enough... except for the size
If the OM-D hadn't come out, I might have picked up an E-30
...or an E-5x0 if one had been made

But w the OM-D I got the size I wanted in body and lenses, along w the flexability to go gripless when traveling light or w grip for a big tele lens... I was leaning towards buying this camera before the theft.

This is not to say I wouldn't like to see another E-x, if only to shut up the whiners for another year (or maybe it would only be a few months before they start demanding the E-9??)

But then, I never did have a bunch of SHG lenses (too big and too much $$ for my taste and budget) so I don't miss those big lenses or a big camera to hang them on.
