This link was posted by another user (ufo1), buried in another thread. If these are actual example images from the SX50, I'm impressed.
Me too. Given that there is a 1200mm image included with the samples, these probably are the first image samples from the SX50, other than the official "one." THANK YOU for finding this link and bringing it to the forum. I would imagine the 1200mm shot was taken handheld, and that these are straight out of the camera.
I am encouraged! Hopefully we'll see more soon.

Even at ISo 320 which the exif says some of these were taken i am impressed, but still way too early to tell.

I noticed there was virtually no noise in the shadows of that first image.

Yes, those look good for iso 320.
I would like to see some low light, high iso shots.
That lens is slow, F3.4 :(
Low noise at high iso would help, it needs all the help it can get.
Thanks posting.

Thanks for posting the link!
Looks very promising.

Here's a couple more new pics. Not the best conditions for testing, especially for the max zoom, but it does show the antenna detail reasonably well.

Edit: Just to compile all available photos so far -

(has 1 more photo than Japan's Canon site. Sorry that the direct link is blocked)

That's exactly what I saw also! Very encouraging! Let's just hope it's not due to any in-camera overly aggressive noise reduction being implemented.

The full zoom is a horrible example, I agree also. Hopefully as time goes on we will get more and more sample images and maybe even a review along the way.

Quite right, but with P510 it was the same: the sample were not significant at all :( ...

Thanks for posting this other link. These images aren't quite as good. Looks like there may have been some in-camera or post sharpening done to these, when viewed at 100%. Also, there are glare spots and streaks and what looks like a big ol' spot of dust or water on the lens! As you said, not the best conditions! But that zoom power is amazing!

Thank you for posting! If the video and macro are better than those of P510 and the stills are comparable, for me is enough reason to upgrade...
Agreed. I wish the lcd was 3 inch as well, but oh well..

This site would have been excellent for photos - if they were sensibly sized! Nice selection of cameras and images.

Here's some moon shots. A nice result, but I think better is achievable with the SX50. The 2x digital seems to do quite well, in photo and video.
