Just imagine being one of the first settlers. Crossing such a thing with your wife, kids, animals and all the belongings while constantly fighting Indians.

There is a film with Kirk Douglas on this theme (they are crossing the Grand Canyon).

Perfect capture of rough landscape, Tom.. shooting against the light is adding to misty atmosphere, in a way I like it.. makes the canyon even less inviting and mysterious - says, Stay away! ;) .. good work, thanks for sharing :D ..

Kind of cool but inviting image, Dave.. feel of early spring day well conveyed, love the little flowers and new grass, the cloud are not very friendly (approaching rain?) - but yet, the optimistic picnickers are enjoying the the spring ;) .. well spotted, thanks for sharing :D ..

Really like the first shot, with the red boathouse/barn, for a nice accent of color to the frame!

Interesting idea for their coffee shop entrance. Your title, Mountainside, was perfect, Bruno!

Dazzling captures!

Neat shot, Dez! How did you get that angle? Is it a "T" shaped pier?

And, what is the tall, red structure? A flying swing pylon?

Your shots of GBNP are masterpieces! Thanks for going there, a real, off the beaten path location, to bring back some fantastic images to share with us!

Good job, Nicholas!
