When will this forum be renamed Sony SLT?

Other than an internal use of a mirror a Sony DSLR and a Sony SLT accept the same lenses and work the same way in terms of set up and acquisition.

The real change is not the mirror which gives the SLT its name, but the real innovational difference is the EVF versus the OVF.

The overwhelming majority that have used good EVF's prefer them to OVF's of the pre-digital age.

When Sony stops calling SLT's DSLR's and all the classic DSLR designs are no longer used by forum members.

Have you actually done any statistical evidence to prove this?

Also, assuming that you have, what allowance have you made for the lack of objectivity that often accompanies a new acquisition?

Also, OVFs are not from the pre-digital age, they are still contemporary, just not on new Sony's.

When the last A900/A850 user draws his final breath, a single tear falling out of his eyes in remembrance of his fallen A700 brethren.

Then the skies shall part, light shall shine upon the land, and SLT users shall rejoice in eternal EVF heaven for all eternity. Ohh, and a mod will remember to update the forum's name as well.

Then shouldn't Sony just call them SLR's everywhere then? Or Pellicle Sony's with a little bird logo? That would be fun.

Good idea. That'd work in every category. Use the mount/sensor-size. That way the model designations would be irrelevant.

Alpha is not a mount designation to Sony. NEXi are also alphas. - TF

Some would have you believe that having to adapt to new technology is a workaround, but having adapted to old technology is photography.

Judging from 'best sellers' sales figures from amazon, you can't draw that conclusion.

that is an equally flawed argument, given that neither of the Big Two have, as yet, any DSLR with an EVF

i know what i know, which is a fraction of what i don't

You´ve grounded below level zero with this one, I´m afraid... :(
Don´t need the smoke to smell the flame here. Sad, but hey, be happy, it worked.

They won't produce one because it'll hurt their sales, Sony is a case in point.
