I have been watching all the Youtube videos of the new Samsung Galaxy Camera and it looks amazing. I have been wanting a decent camera with 4G connectivity for a long time - and this looks like it. I'd prefer if it was an NX camera with better sensor, but you can't have everything. What do you guys think about the Galaxy camera? I'm a casual photographer, mostly take pics of friends and family, at the beach in Southern California, upload to Facebook, etc. I haven't printed a photo in about five years.

I also like the fact that the Galaxy Camera is like a mini-tablet computer as well.

I am about to sell my Canon EOS 60D kit (Speedlite 580EX II and Tamron AF 18-270) because I don't want to lug everything around in order to buy this Samsung smart camera.
Any idea when it'll be in the shops and pricing?
Thanks

for me, no nx no party!

I'm not interested in small sensor cameras.

So why did you post in this thread then? In any case, the android large-sensor versions will be out soon enough, I will lay odds on that.
........

My experience is with the camera in my Samsung Galaxy Note. Not brilliant, but quite efficient as a P&S, and with FullHD video.

What really makes a difference is third party apps . For $1.99 I bought "Pro HDR Camera" which does an excellent job of automating HDR capture at full camera resolution, and a few dollars bought me "CameraPRO," which allows me to take videos of any length, automatically restarting the camera when the HD Video file gets full.

"Camera FV-5" stores all my photos as lossless PNGs - effectively RAW - and maintains a background queue to write them to SD card without stopping me from pressing the shutter again :) This app also does burst and bracketing, and has a really good UI.

I want one of these Samsung Android Cameras, and will pre-order as soon as they are available

Oh - did I mention that I use Google Voice and Skype for all my calling now? You call my mobile number, it is Google Voice number, and it directs you to my phone over the 3G data connection, using an app called "GrooveIP." So even though Samsung may not be fully supporting the phone capabilities of their Android Camera yet - there's an app for that, too :) :)

We like this any more notes are being taken .

sorry, didn't mean to troll at all! I was just expressing my wish for a NX android based camera, which would be the only way for Samsung to seriously and perhaps victoriously compete in the (now difficult) mirrorless segment.

p.s.: I love android and all its apps. I've been an Android user for years, now.

I certainly like the idea of having in camera apps for android. I think it has to be in concert with an open raw format so apps can flourish around that for at least the interchangeable lens cameras.
