LX7 @ Coney Island

Mark, the difference I see is the faster operational speed and AF speed, as well as the larger f/1.4 aperture and built-in ND filter. There also different modes like built-in Panorama and HDR, which I didn't like as much as it is implemented in my Sony NEX-7.

Low light, the LX7 is decent but I won't be using it much in that situation. I'll use my mirrorless camera or SLR for that. But it is pretty good up to ISO 800 (the LX5 was pretty good up to ISO 400).

You can compare my Lumix models here. Check the EXIF: http://dezsantana.com/lumix

Thanks Yellowdog.

I've been shooting Raw + Jpeg and use the Raw when the scene is dynamic and I need the extra range to PP. Since these were shot in good light, I opted to use the Jpegs. I believe I used the Raw in the B&W train station shot, though.

Are those shot out of camera? Did you do some PP and what software? Thanks again for sharing those excellent shots of the LX3.

They are JPEG, not straight of the camera. I used the JPEG to do simple Levels adjustment, selective NR and selective sharpening.

The shots in OP are LX7, not LX3. Thanks.

OOOPPSS!!!...SORRY about that..I was thingking of my "old" LX3. Anyway I emailed my daughter in Houston to go and take a look at the LX7 for me. She's looking at 1 too. I here in Afghanistan now and don;t really want it here at the moment. My LX3 will do fine for now :) I will eventually get the LX7 and maybe the FZ200 too..that would be one hell of a combo :) :)

Thanks again. Keep shooting those fantastic shots.

Here are a couple I took here with my LX3. Needs PP.

@ rgs_45

Those images are awesome! Looks like a scene from a sci-fi movie. I really like the powerful mood of these photos.

Maybe i would have cropped the last photo into a square but maybe you have tried that, when taking the photo. Thanks for sharing.

DezM
Great shots firsly and thanks to a good insight to the LX7..

would you say OOC Jpegs with a few settings tweaks are as good and sharp as the LX3 & LX5? with the new sensor and lens. i am not really that concerned about RAW processing essentially.
Thanks
Lee
