RX1 Mirrorless

A fixed lens FF? Thanks, I will pass this time. I will wait for the changeable version. :)

hmm, fixed lens I didn't read that closely. But it probably is meant to go up against the fuji x100. Sound interesting though.

I know Im going to sound crazy and this is just wishful thinking but I want the same thing with 28 - 200, 2.0 - 3.5 would be ideal.

one of my dreams ( well, related to cameras ) comes true.
Please let it be real! I hope it is possible to attach a viewfinder.
Easy to do with a prime lens, technically a digital rangefinder. I have mixed feelings about fixed lens though but it will work great for someone looking for a FF camera with a fantastic landscape lens (a quality 35mm f/2 won't be cheap), in that case, may be just buy the camera for its lens, and stick zoom lens on A99 (or whatever).

Well... if I were to get another fixed-lens camera, this would probably be the one. 35mm equivalent (well in this case, just plain 35mm) is important to me. Important enough to have with its own dedicated body? Maybe...

I like some aspects of the control layout, like the exposure compensation dial and the AF mode lever. Oh, and the aperture ring. Definitely a swipe at Fuji! :D

But, seriously: a fast Zeiss prime, at my favorite focal length, on a FF platform, all in an almost pocketable form? This will not be something I will dismiss lightly.

Maybe someone like me who shoots street like photography with the Sony Zeiss 24 attached for weeks at a time. I could see myself selling my Zeiss 24 and a few other lenses on my 5N and keeping just what I really use and getting the RX1 for most daily shooting. Of course, I am not going to be an early adopter for this . . . I'll wait for reviews.

True, that lens by itself is about $1,100 bucks.

So let me get this straight?

They call this a professional camera, with no EVF and no option for interchangeable lens?

No thanks. I will stick with my NEX-7.

Looks like Sony's answer to the Leica x2 and the Fuji X100. No EVF would be an unfortunate omission.

Cheers,

John

Love it, ff with fix lens, it sounds like pure IQ. I just would prefer a 50mm. I hope they put it out with a dedicated OVF, although it is easy to find one from a rengefinder.

I think you are exactly the customer they have in mind.

Haven't seen a back shot yet, though it does look as though there may be no built-in VF. That would be a minus for me. A dedicated EVF (or OVF) for the hot shoe could be a groovy accessory!
