One of my daughters friends had a party at their cottage over the weekend and being we're good friends with the family we were invited to chaperon. We had a great time pulling the kids on the tubes and it was a great chance to test out the K5. Toughest part was keeping still in the boat while hauling around the lake over the waves. Lots of fun and as you can see the kids had a blast. The second photo is my daughter.

All were shot in jpeg with the only adjustments some cropping and level adjustment.

Good shots....thanks for sharing. Looks like you guys had a gr8 fun

Scott - Great actions shots. Really, really good. You are really getting a lot of use out of the K-5. Thanks to my hectic work schedule (not complaining though and that is where I am at as I reply to your post) and trying to keep up with work around the house I probably have not taken more than 30 or so images with it since March when I bought it.

Hopefully this winter when things slow down.

Thanks for posting.

Thanks Jim. I really do like the K5 compared to my Kr. It's much more responsive in my opinion.

Find some time this winter and we'll shoot some frozen waterfalls. Perhaps we can meet at Tahquamenon Falls followed up by a few brews at the brewery on site. :-)

Thanks Mike,

I changed off between my 18 - 135 mm WR and the 55 - 300 mm kit lens that came with my Kr when I wanted to get in close. Both are great lenses in my opinion. Just had to be a bit more careful with the 55 - 300 to avoid splashing.

Ha Ha, you got some great shots there.....kids probably love them!

What settings were you able to get away with on these?

I will be coming to the Porcupines the 2nd week of Sept for a week. Are you in that area or farther east?

Thanks Brian,

I was in AV mode with the f-stop in the 6.3 to 8.0 range. I set my ISO at 200 which worked perfect because it was such a bright sunny day. That kept the shutter speed fast to lock in the action.

I live in Escanaba which is center south in the UP. You'll love thye Porcupines. Attached is a map of all the great waterfalls in the area with links for more information. I highly recommend you visit Bond Falls as you're within an hours of it and it's awesome.
