I have not forgotten the Fuji X100. On a very short trip to Spain in the beginning of June I brought it with me. From the shots I made I have selected a series for a new gallery. I was in a little town called Covarrubias not far from Burgos. Although I was only about 24 hours there I got the chance to see a lot. The photos are here:

Thanks ArneMarco,

great shots with beautiful impressions from that countrytown south of Burgos.

The shot with the tomb of Princess Kristina and the Norwegian flag beside it made me curious, what would be the connection.........?

Wikipedia, fortunately, reveals the story how she was married to the Spanish court, her strenuous trip from Norway to Spain and her short life.

Thanks again

All are the great pictures. The sky is "beautiful blue". Please allow me to ask a couple of questions for you.

1. Were those pictures taken with CPL filter on the lens. I guess 49mm CPL is not available at the market.

2. Did you use the Film Simulation? I wonder if you used Velvia.

3. I once had Sigma SD15. Although I loved Foveon sensor image quailty very much, I traded it for Nikon's mechanical superiority. Now I am considering to buy Fuji X100 as a main camera for landscape & portraits and not for P&S street photography. I heard many good words about X100's image quality & build quality. How would you rate X100 being the big fan of Sigma Foveon?

Thank you in advance for your sharing your evaluation on X100 compared to Sigma Foveon.

Don

Yes, Kristina lived for a short time in Spain. But at that time there was an important alliance between the King of Norway and the King of Castillo. Kristina admired the Saint King Olav of Norway and it is said that she wanted to construct a chapel to his honor in Covarrubias. Now it has been done ... so there is an intersection between the Norwegian and Spanish History.

Hi Don,

1. No, all pictures are taken wihout any CPL filter. But I bought one in 52mm with a 49-52mm stepup ring. There are much more filters in 52mm. But then you can't use the hood on the lens ...

2. No, all shots in RAW and postprocessed in LightRoom.

3. I do really like the Foveon but the cameras from Sigma are quite humble. I just love the handling of the X100 and its brilliant Viewfinder. I have the DP1 and the DP2 with the optical VFs. But they are not very exact.

I have now the SD1 Merrill which has a stunning resolution and sharpness. With prime lenses one get very good results.

But I think Fuji has done something very right with the X100 (and maybe better with the X-Pro1?). The colors are very good and the quality of the lens quite high. I am starting to enjoy to shoot without zoom ...

Thank you for your kind explanations. I visit your gallery from time to time since I happen to be a Foveon lover. I am stimulated by the pictures you posted whenever I visit your gallery. I wish I travel to Norway, the paradise for the landscape photographers. Thanks again.

I see nothing in the gallery (macbook air, safari and chrome), the page is black, - other pages are ok, not gallery.
