Ain't she pretty?

Uh-oh, Lyle! You are slipping back into your own little world again. At least when you look up at night, you see beautiful girls and not Spartans, bears, and serpents. :P

Ronny, She is a very beautiful lady. Her expression is the greatest and I expect is a reflection of her personality. She reminds me of my only Sister when she was younger.
I have been hesitant to ask -- is she a relative.

Edit to add: Probably not a relative -- I just now noticed the image was sent to you for retouch

Very nice, Nick. You made her look glamorous and vibrant. :P I'm going to nitpick if you don't mind. You did miss a small zit on her forehead that could use the spot healing tool. I also felt like you got her skin just a little too smooth, especially on the forehead. You can add back some fake pores by creating a gray fill Overlay layer and adding Sandstone texture. The quickest way to do that is to hold down Alt and click on the make new layer icon. When the New layer window comes up, choose Overlay from the dropdown menu and check the "Fill with Overlay 50% neutral gray" box. Then go to Filter> Texture> Texturizer> Sandstone> 50% and 2 relief. Hide with a mask and then mask back in over the skin.

Also, since the blouse is so light, you can get it to take color better if you use the Multiply Mode.

Thanks for you rendition.

Ahhh, I see you made the same point I did about the layer mode but in a more subtle way. :P

Ronny,

Thanks for the feedback. I agree with the skin being a bit too smooth. I masked in a Surface Blur on the skin, but didn't turn down the transparency enough. I did miss the one zit that should have got a spot heal. I whitened the eyes and teeth a bit. Brightened the shadows in the eye, and locally sharpened the eyes, lips and hair. I did a quick (sloppy) blouse selection and changed the color with curves in Lab mode.

Thanks for the fake pores idea. That sounds like a clever idea, and I will have to try it.

Best regards,
Nick

I have another suggestion in regards to skin texture that I think you might like. You may already know this but others following this thread might benefit. Spend most of your time on the skin with the healing and cloning tools on a blank layer. When you finish getting rid of all the major blemishes, Ctrl+Alt+Shift+E to merge all visible layers to a new layer. Do it twice because one of the merged layers is going to be used for adding back texture after you use Surface Blur. Stick both merged layers in a group and turn off the top layer. Run Surface Blur on the bottom layer in the group. You can over do it and adjust layer opacity later. Then add a black mask to the group and mask back in the blur on the skin. Now, activate the top layer and run high pass sharpening on it. Since this layer was not blurred, you can use it to add back some of the original healed skin texture. Just play with the opacities of the two layers in the group to get the desired result.

This photo is back yet again? Wow. It will hit 5 pages soon. I haven't seen one reach this kind of popularity. Some people post threads with photos that get very little attention, yet this reaches nearly 5 pages with a gazillion retouches.
