X10 | Photos from the Garden | Goodbye Fuji!

Just thought I would share these photos that I have captured with my X10 since getting it in early May.

Fujifilm Canada had it back and forth for four weeks in a laughable fiasco that I don't need to elaborate on here. The new replacement they finally sent me will go up to the auction block in a few days. It's a shame I bought a couple hundred dollars worth of accessories for it already.

After ten years of using Fuji cameras I am done, c'est la vie!

It's a decent little camera but I can't trust Fujifilm in the future and just want to cut my losses and sell it while I can still make some money back out of it.

All captured in Raw, 'developed' in ACR 7.1/CS6.

Beautiful images.

Sorry that you have had such a difficult time with Fuji...that does tend to sour things.

It's difficult for me to say anything because this one,

...made my jaw drop.

Far different from just one more another flower/egret/dog/toddler/sunset/my breakfast shot, this is one case the old saying holds true: the color interplay, the composition, are not the camera, are the photographer's conscious choice.

And of course a bit of thoughtful PP didn't hurt. Thank you very much for sharing.

Yes, I like the photos, too. Wonder about how the colors came to be?

As far as I understood it is not that he does not like the X10, but the way that Fujifilm fails to deal with its bugs and issues in a professional manner.

I find your photos to be outstanding. What is it about the X10 that makes you get rid of it ?

Thanks George. The X10 is fine, it's the so-called "service" I received from Fujifilm Canada that makes me want to get rid of it. I am still going to sleep on it for a few more nights before I put it up for sale...

Thanks Timur. All of those have very little PP done, only mild saturation adjustments. The photo of the droplets has the most post-processing, mainly localized sharpness adjustments...

It wasn't a bug issue at but you got the other part right. It took a lot of phone calls and talking to the right people to have my problem dealt with properly.

Framer, I wonder about the blue of the background (which I like). Was it sky color or some wall?

Thanks again. Those skies look like painted, quite warm and unusual, but really nice. A shame that you have to give up the camera because of Fujifilm's lack of proper support.

I am also astounded that you could catch the bee at such high shutter speed, with aperture closed down some at ISO 100. Must be really sunny weather where you are. ;)

Personally I am waiting since 3 weeks or so for my X10 to return from its second sensor treatment. Fortunately I did not send it in before the sensor replacement for another issue I am experiencing. And even though Fujifilm asked me to send it in for exactly that other issue before they now simply ignore my requests to handle that issue.

Isn't the expression you are groping for tant pis ?

I wish I had the disposable income to waste on throwing a little cut-off-my-nose-to-spite-my-face tantrum after the problem that is the occasion for the tantrum apparently has been fully solved.

No, thanks, I said what I wanted to say.

That's not what I said, you are putting words in my mouth and your apparent anger seems misplaced.

I said:

"It's a decent little camera but I can't trust Fujifilm in the future and just want to cut my losses and sell it while I can still make some money back out of it."

So to clarify, I can't trust that Fujifilm will look after me in the future if something else goes wrong. I refuse to have to call almost daily and ship a camera back and forth due to their mistakes and lack of professionalism in certain areas of their organization.

So if I want to mitigate my losses by selling the camera now I can't help but laugh at your flippant remark about me having a "disposable income".

My experience with Fuji service has been excellent. The X10 with the replaced sensor was shipped back to me within 48 hours, and the two times I spoke with them I found them eager to help.

Perhaps your experience was unusual. Of course, the Fuji-haters will reject any claim of a good experience with some unrelated or trivial "issue".

I would truly hesitate to get rid of a "point and shoot" camera than can produce those pictures with little PP...

Oh, where are these famous "Fuji-haters" of which you speak?
