Sony HX30V at the Cirque Du Soleil Michael Jackson Immortal July 27 2012 in Toronto Canada at the ACC Centre. They didn't allow cameras so I had to hide this on my seat in between my legs and the shakes you see every now & then is because I had no way of holding the camera properly, I couldn't even see the screen well it was from an 80 degree angle. This little camera is amazing & the zoom is 20X optical plus another 20X in digital with still great quality you will see for yoursel. Remember this is a compressed file to mkv then uploaded to youtube, the real uncompressed file looks amazing!! I was also way up in the nose bleeds!!

You did an amazing job recording this, especially under the circumstances. It's nice to see what this camera can do in skilled hands.

Hi, can you let me know how the HX30V performs when taking stills during videotaping? What I would like to know specifically is the speed and the quality of the stills.
Thanks

Quality of the stills while recording video is still amazing but, you can only take I believe 10 pics total while recording video. Once you pause and start again you can take another 10 and do it as many times as you like. The capture of the pics is not that quick as it would be without recording video and can only be done in the second best setting so if you're shooting at 1080P 60 you cannot take stills. This limitation is the same for other cameras including the RX100 from what I read.
