####the Weekly Landscape Thread 26-07-2012#####

Lee, i think you look at original processed file after tweakin; . what pixel numbers hight and wides.

I keep mine at 550/600pics 800 or something for normal and for landscape at 1600 wide maximum for my hosting site.

cheers

Excellent image, Dez.. really like the equilibrium of two absolutely different shapes - on one side the firework as sphere (maybe a circle) and other-side the obelisk as a line ;).. hard to believe, but it works!.. good eye, thanks for sharing :D ..

All the best,

Well captured maritime action, Rick.. don't worry about the clouds, there is smoke enough! (sorry, I know it is bad, but couldn't help it :( ) - this is a mariner's nightmare, being on the water and being destroyed by the fire!.. fine work, thanks for sharing :D ..

All the best,

Those two are splendid Paul. Love the bracken fern shoot foreground and mist of number 1; and number 2 is rich with color & comp.

Cheers,
Rick

the moment' shots. After noticing what looked like an engine fire, I noticed Carpe Diem motoring out of the marina and fumbled up a couple of shots trying desperately to get some elements of comp. including both vessels. After the shot, as it turned out, Carpe Diem did redirect, and 'come to the aid' of the vessel in case it went from bad to worse. The vessel seamed to be OK, but was drifting and in apparent contact with Carpe Diem as I headed off to my destination. I assume a tow may have been in order. I ended up with a little too much crop, but at least I 'got the shot'. Need more land in my 'landscapes'.

Cheers,
Rick

Lovely images, Rick.. really like the pastel colors adding the softness to images, even the prickly stem and leaves of teasels seems to be "friendly" ;) .. well seen and composed, thanks for sharing :D ..

All the best,

Very nice image of the perfect windmill. It looks like it is still working - do you know if it is? You would need to take care stepping out of the doorway in case the sail got you!
yes it still works and works as addition to more modern systems in my area to control the water level in several channels around my hometown.

Beautiful holiday set, Robiro.. bag full of cool shots! Hard to make a pick, I would set for two in late day light (LAL, LOL - Nos.6 & 7).. the Cocktail bar - a true challenge getting back to the Earth after few drinks (those stairs are looking dangerous), and for delicate light and detail of the next shot (Sitting alone..) ;) .. lovely series, thanks for sharing :D ..

Kind regards,

Fine image, Marti.. looks as you had a windy day, all the free and "green" energy waiting to be used.. hard to say what would happen with changing the vantage point, but somehow the town buildings don't fit in relaxed and serene feel at canal side and the windmill in a view ;) .. thanks for sharing. :D

All the best,

Lovely set, Paul.. I like the first one for well captured circle of fern's life, new "baby" plants growing out of dried out last year's ferns, of course the droplets are "added value" to the image (as the politician would say, LOL ) .. love the shot of the softly shaped valley beautifully completed with Lee's view of the place ;) .. good eye and fine use of LX5, thanks for sharing :D ..
